hi all,we went out last night for a meal, father in laws retirement.
i really didnt feel up to going.
i knew it would take a while for me to get ready. 3hrs attually.been stiffening up again for wks.
i got in the bath at 4pm & ive got some 1 else's knees.
not mine,double the size,red & swollen.
this is the 1st time ive seen my knees like this,my oh cant believe it either.ive put on 2 stone since changing from the patches, but that only puts me up to 9st 3.
knees have gone down a bit now,hot baths have helped, but there still swollen,so is my thumb but it always is.
i woke this morning & couldnt get out of bed,oh had to bring me pain killers, fell asleep again for an hr, then he had to help me get out of bed.i'd seized up. is my oa getting worse im thinking YES.
my MRI is nx saturday,& im ringing again tomorrow for my bloods cause the surgery havent got them as of last wk
hope i dont wake up tomorrow with some 1 else's bits again. CAN I SEND THEM BACK :?: return to sender
i dont want them

Hi Debs,
Your going through it just now, I wish things didn't do this to you or anyone else. If you find the return address for other peoples bits could you post it cus I have a couple of returns.......
I wonder is it a fluid build up or inflamation? I just think maybe you should make an appointment rather than just phone for your results.
You go easy and I hope tomorrow will see the knee fairy realised their mistake and brings yours back,I really hope you have a bit of luck and better days. x

Hi Debs sorry to hear your suffering at the moment out of all the problems i have i hate it most in my feet and legs it sets you back so much. If its inflammation in your knees you need to see the GP and get something to ease it. Its weird how one day you can feel fine and the next really bad, sounds like your OH is a real nice guy who understands. I dont know much about OA debs and i dont have a bath anymore just the shower but i have difficulty getting dried holding the weight of the towel and reaching. I have a hairdryer set up in one of the bedrooms and use it to get dried. i tend to let the hot air blow on my bad bits for a while and it does make the pain feel a little better. It may be worth having a go. I also went out for dinner Friday night and still paying the price. Take Care Daebs and keep your chin up. Did you have the depot Medrone injection not so long ago.

Hello, Sounds as if you'r having a bad time of it, but if you must borrow someone elses legs, you should go for nice, fit healthy ones, like maybe a super model or something! Love Sue0

hi,thanks u always make me smile.
the hot baths r helping.not as bad today on the swelling but still really painful.
the rhymy did say the oa is bad in both knees now.
Cris if i find the address i'll send it to u
Colin ive got my scan on saturday then im hoping the appointment will come through for the injections as ive not had it yet.
due to see pain clinic too,but im waiting for appointment for that too.
its no good going to gp as i have to take ibuprofen anyway,& thats all he'll tell me to take for the imflammation.
i must start using my crutches more, take the strain off a bit.even rhymy said to use them more. im a bit stubborn & try to keep on with out using them & it wont help.
anyway thanks,Sue i dont know who's legs i'd want to borrow, sometimes mine look better than theirsdebsx[/url]

ColinHi Joyful here.
Just a thought Colinone, I can't hold the weight of a bath towel anymore. I just have a great big beautiful towelling bath robe. Just put that on and in a jiff, you're dry. You just have the effort of putting it on but it saves all the stretching.0 -

Hi Colin and Joy,
Have you seen microfibre towels - I use these. Very lightwieght, just use a dab or blot method of drying rather than rubbing like an ordinary towel. They can be bought from Lakelands.

Hi Debs,
Have you tried ice packing your knees? Cold doesn't work for everyone but it does generally help to reduce inflammation and swelling.
Hope you enjoyed your meal anyway.
Your OH is a little treasure isn't he

Hi Debs
You didnt get my knees by mistake did you? so sorry thought i had sent them to the returns deptMust say that ice helps my joints more when they are inflammed than heat but I know we are all different, but heat actually seems to aggravete mine.
Legs like the sound of those towels, I use the towelling dressing gown and drip dry method!
I do love lakeland catalogues, they have something for everything!!
Hope your knees start feeling better soon, Debs, and perhaps you should use your crutches a bit more to take the strain off your knees just while they are so sore. I know they are a pain though.
