Not sure if this is in the right place sorry if it should be in Chit Chat.

I got my DLA through today without any problems, first time I've applied for it as well.
I have to thank the members on here who have given so much good advice about it. I filled the forms in with information about how I am when I'm at my worst, which is most of the time now and obviously my consultant must of backed this up.
I'm getting the higher rate mobility and lower rate care, just waiting for my blue badge and then I'll be a fully paid up member.
Very mixed feelings though once again, it's that word disabled that does it.
Thanks everyone I couldn't of done it without all the help and advice you all give, even though I know some of you have had to go to hell and back to get it.

Rita X

    Hi Rita

Well done :!: :D Isn't it good when something goes your way :?: It gives you such a boost to your morale. I got my blue badge a couple of weeks ago, and it has made a big difference already. I wouldn't worry about being labelled disabled. Who cares, as long as you get the things you are entitled to.

Three cheers for the DLA - who can get it right if they follow our advise

As Toni says you now have your passport for the Landlord's bunker, bar and pickled egg palace - so we'll be seeing you down there. Although be warned it could involve the Landlord's couch

Great about your daughter too - wonder what your third bit of good news will be k030.gif

Well done and justly deserved! Not many advantages to being registered disabled, but free car tax is one  Different story when it comes to trying to go back to paying for car tax, I had a right carry on and a 40 mile round trip to re-register car, thats another story! jk

    Thanks everyone.
Getting my op date must be my 3rd bit of good news, off to hospital tomorrow for pre op.

I can't believe the amount of doors getting DLA opens.
It's not a huge amount of money but it will certainly help.
The first thing I need is a hand rail on the steps leading down to our house, I always feel a bit wobbly trying to come down them with my crutches.
Ok meet you in the bar the drinks are on me, yeah.
