HI I have just been taken off Enbrel for the second time because of a side affect with my throat. Its a long story but it seems i have RA in my voice box and swallow muscles so its not a side affect but the Rheumy decided he wants me off the enbrel.
Havent had a date yet but i'm due to start Humira Adalimumab is anyone on this and can you give me any info, I've read all the scarry bits on the net but just wanted to see what real people thought.
Thanks
Colin

Hi Colin
That's what my dad is on. He has had no problems as far as I know. I will be speaking to him tonight and see what he says about it and let you know. He doesn't have a computer otherwise I would rope him in. In the last 15 years he has tried most things! Will tell you more later once I have spoken to him.

Hi
I was started on enbrel New Year's Eve and it had to be stopped after 4 injections because of dreadful problems including the emergence of a lupus-type syndrome and severe blistering of my lips.
I started humira 3 weeks ago and my life is transformed. The early morning stiffness has been the biggest change and the fatigue is better, although I hope for more improvement yet. I have had RA for almost 9 years, have had masses of surgery and have been on DMRDs for 6 years and have continued to decline alarmingly. I should have had this drug at least 5 years ago and it is only because of very poor initial care that I got into this mess and have so much structural damage, all of which I am left with of course.
I had to find a consultant with his wits about him to make any progress and my only advice would be, go for it!
The gains are worth all the risks.

Hi I have only been on humira for a month and i'm already feeling improvment, Also because it comes in a pen it is very easy to inject. I also say go for it and ignore scary stories on net

Spoke to my dad and he has been on it for 5 years with no problems at all, the improvement for him has been very good. Hope you find that it does the same for you too. I have a few questions for you so will catch up with you later.

Hi Colin I have been one humira for about 3 months now and it is fantastic best thing I have ever had. I have no side effects from it (unlike methotrexate which is evil!) and it has brought my inflammation down from 96 to 8! Cannot say enough good things about it.0
