I AM getting that new hip! (Update from me)

Hello my lovely friends! I saw the consultant on Tuesday & he showed me the x ray of my poor hip in close up on the computer & it explained why I have been in so much pain all this time!
I am now on the list to get a sparkly new one & feel so relieved & hopeful now that my life can move on. Also, I had a long talk with my manager today & she is now being much more supportive & doing everything the DDA says should be at last. I go down to 75% pay in August but know I am lucky compared to many situations I have read about here.
Just want to say, I come here, to keep up with you guys more than any of the other cyber sites, as you are all so brilliant & the only people who really understand. Love you all! :D

    That's wonderful news about your hip and the changes in your job are sure to help you enormously. Just out of interest, how long will it be till the op? Do you know?

    Hi Nina, the wait is supposed to be three months max so not bad really. The reasonable work adjustments can't be made unfortunately as I run a large beauty counter on my own in a shop and there is no working lift or possibility of seating but she is now looking into all the options for me & has started paying an agency to cover my counter at weekends. Have been so upset & stressed over the collapse of all my hard work for the business this last few months.

    Great to hear your news.
    Work will be there when your'e not so try to detach yourself a bit,easier said than done when you are a loyal worker.
    They are a good bunch on here aren't they.

    Congratulations! :D Its good to think you'll soon be out of pain. I'm glad work are being more helpful too. Although I can't see why you couldn't have some sort of chair to sit on at times during the day, never mind. :D

    good news at last for you, hopethe wait is not too long, they said 3 months for me and it was 7 weeks so with a bit of luck you will be pain free and up and running by the end of summer, hooray :lol:

    I get my new one on the 5th June.
