As a relative 'newbie' I have gone way back in time reading the older postings. And I find that many of you don't post very often (if at all now).
Its made me wonder why and if some of you are still 'lurking' you don't bother to post anymore?

It would be nice to hear from you 'older posters' if you'll pardon the expression :) I wonder whats happened to you, why you don't post anymore, are you better/worse?

It would be lovely to hear how your going on.

    Hi Jackie,

I know you're not talking to me - as we all know you can't shut me up  but my son informs me, rightly or wrongly, that with Forums people come and go. I suppose some get what they want from it then don't need it any longer. He thinks the life, on average, of a Forum poster is two years maximum.

It would be really interesting to know who has been the Forum's longest poster. I think it could Chrisov, Elna or Toni :?

Summertime could make a difference too because people go out more.

    Luv Legs :D

PS Oh look this my 900th post!

    Hi Jackie and Linda :D

:D Chrisov has been on the forum longer than me. :D Toni "joined" after me. :D

Vonski has been on the forum for a good two years.

Kath has been on here a goodly while. She changes her user name everyso often, just to complicate matters and keep us on our toes! Ouch !:lol:

I hope you both enjoy the long bank holiday weekend. 8) :D

    Luv
    Elna xx

    Hi girls,

Thanks for replies. Linda, I think your right - I suspect most people get what they want/need at the time and then drift away.

Certainly when I was first diagnosed I couldn't get on here enough! I wanted to know everything about RA|and I wanted to know it now LOL I do think I've met some lovely peeps here and I feel like I'm part of a really nice 'club' :)

Perhaps a former poster who does still 'lurk' or drop-in occasionally can enlighten us more :?:

    Hi Jackie

I haven't been a member of this forum as long as some of your other repliers but I did post a lot in the run-up to my TKR and post-op.

I got a tremendous amount of support and help and now I try to do the same for other people if and when I can. I tend to look out for threads on things I know about i.e. OA and TKR but when I have time I look more widely and put in a reply when I think I have something helpful to say.

Time is the big thing for me at the moment. I am a freelance researcher and work more than full-time when I have contracts. I hope to retire soon - maybe later this year - so I'm keeping in touch with the forum and hope to have more time to be more fully involved then.

This is a great network and I wouldn't be without it!

    All the best

    Wendy

PS As you can probably tell from the above my TKR was a great success - though recovery had its 'ups and downs' which this forum helped me a lot with!

    Hi Chrisov,

I always think of you as being on the site, the longest and I have been on here a goodly while now too but will never catch up with you however hard I try.:lol: I along with loads of others are happy that you "stick around" and since I have been on the forum and call in most days, at least once  I have not noticed that you have ever annoyed anybody.

Hope we in Buckinghamshire, shared the sunshine with you today. 8) :D

    Luv

I've been a member here for about 3 years now, and I've always lurked more than I post. I'm also a member of a forum specifically for RA, so I tend to post more there. I come here if I have specific questions relating to the NHS or to give support to newbies, to show that RA can be successfully managed and treated.

My RA is finally under control. It's taken 3 years and lots of different meds but we've finally hit on a combination that works.

    Hi Guys
I know what you mean Jackie.....I miss some people too, but often it's that they are ok and busier - having less need of the support....that doesn't matter they can always come back if they need us can't they?
Chrisov is one of the longest members to me along with Vonski. Elna too, but she helped me so much last year. Scotishlass too is very very knowledgeable. Gosh there are loads!!! :!: I respect them all and still - almost - consider myself a newbie!
Charlotte 34 _ Glad to meet you! You do have something to offer and will do so when the time comes!
    take care all

    Hi scattered :D:D

How could we forget you? :D Yep, you have been on here well before me and you may not post often but when you do, it's always very good, helpful advice.

I am really pleased to hear that you have your RA under control and and are able to get on with your life ok. We always like to hear positive news.

Hope you will be enjoying sunny weather for the next few days,

    Look after yourself,
