Hi,Did anyone see the 10 o'clock news last night where they were talking about a new drug for RA which has been developed at the Royal Berkshire Hospital(near where I live).Apparently it can stop the onset of RA if taken early enough and the trials of the drug have been very good.I don't think it's of use to anyone once the disease has already appeared, but in families with a history of the disease,it does seem to work although it's still early days.I didn't see the whole of the report but it was considered important enought to be on the headlines.Persons one of you saw the whole article? Breane.x

    Morning Breane,
i saw the article on the news yesterday it said that it was £10,000 per person per year and then you would be drug free. But it will need to be approved by NICE...
they showed a young girls whose granmother had RA and she had been diagnosed with it she had been showing symptoms but it didn't say how long for and it apparently stops the disease.
They didn't say who would benefit fro the treatment.
