    Hi Penny

I am sorry to hear that you are in pain. The injections did not last long with pain relief, did they? It probably was the cortisone that made you feel better for a time.

I read that you are going to be referred again to a rheumi. I hope it will be a different one, from the last rheumi you saw, only because it may be a good idea to get a second opinion. I also hope you do not have to wait too long for this appointment.

Please do not apologise for posting - I wish I could be more helpful. I do not know enough about inflammatory arthritis to say whether you have this - but the rheumy should be able to do so. If you think that the swelling may go down before you get your appointment and I hope it does, for your sake, but if you perhaps took some photographs this may be helpful to show how it has been. Even keeping a diary highlighting how you are feeling day to day may help in a diagnosis.

    I wish you well,

    Luv

Hello, I have OA in my neck shoulders hands spine and few more! :?

I had a similar reaction with the rhuemmy, although he did think I might have a rare neuro problem, which frightened me, but the neuro soon sorted that out and I'm fine. I

The trouble is that OA isn't a prolem that needs the amount of drug treatment that something like RA needs, and also if the reummy isn't interested in OA and theirs no surgery needed to pass you on to they tend to send you back to your GP for treatment. Sometimes you can have RA and not have it show up in a blood test, and my GP makes sure that I'm monitored for that regullary (spelling??) If you have'nt had a blood test for a while it may be worth asking your GP to do it again.

I don't know about the injections, but I have had them in my wrists and the improvement in pain made me feel better for a while.

I am sorry your so worried, I'm in the process of being medically retired and I know how worrying it is. If I were you I'd really go and talk to the doctor, if you can about all these problems and he should be helpful. I do know how annoying OA is as a diagnosis.
    Take care Sue

    Hi Penny

Having a great husband is good even if he cannot understand what is going on, as you say, like you, but it is a comfort to know someone close is looking out for you and is there for you. Others do not have that and it is one blessing that I am very grateful for, too.

You post on here as often as you wish because it does help. Even if there are no firm answers.

    Chin up,

    Luv

    Hi Penny
    Poor you :(
Hopefully they will look into that as a possibilty now. It would explain a few things for you wouldn't it?
Shame the jabs didn't last a bit longer isn't it.
As has already been said you can have inflmatory arthritis and sero-negative without positive blood results.
Good luck and I hope you feel at least a little better soon
