Hello,
I know some of you suffer from Carpel Tunnel. I also think I have this as well as pinching of the ulnar nerve in elbow. I'm waiting for my referral to a nuerologist for nerve test thingys (that was over 2mths ago). Anyway, was wondering, when you have pinching of ulnar nerve and/or medial(?) nerve, do your fingers become swollen as well as tingly?

Hiya,
Due to see the maxilliofacial surgeon on Wednesday but don't think they'll do much about jaw. Will just have to wait and see. Got other 'woman' probs now-never ends!
Hope you are well,

Hi, i have carpel. I get swelling in my right hand only during the night, dont get it in the day and my left hand where the carpel is worse bends at the wrist and goes like a claw when i wake up.
Sorry coudnt describe that better, are you getting weling in the day?0 -
Hiya Charlotte,
I've just replied to your other post about a carpel tunnel forum. I get swelling during the day and it's worse in my ring finger on my right hand. I may have trapped nerves in my elbows too and the other day my right elbow was really painful-the feeling was like when you bang your funny bone but ten times worse. This was combined with tingling and numbness in fingers and especially my right ring finger. Don't know if there's something else going on or if it's all connected? I was given oedema gloves to wear during the night and that helps with reducing the swelling. Nice to speak to you,

i have never had it during the day so i cant say if its soemthing else, i have been having physio on my back for a while as i had a serious riding accident two years ago (the specialist said id gte arthritis in my spine so i have that to look forward to)
My thearapist and later GP said i may possibly have a trapped nerve in my back/neck. No one has looked into this further and i still get back pain and a picnched feeling in my neck, to be honest its so hard to decide where one thing ends and another begins as i thought my weak thumb was carpel but now is OA or the carpel could be caused by they OA???? oh i give up
let me know what thye say, its always interesting to see how others are faring witht he same sort of thing.0 -

Hiya again
The gloves are supposed to give your hands support. Quite hard to explain-they're just like normal gloves but more elasticy?! Hope that makes sense. I've lost a couple-I wake up in the morning and I've thrown them all over the bedroom

Hi, I have carpel tunnel and I get some swelling during the day. The Ulner nerve and a nerve in my neck is also effected. I've seen a plastic surgeon, who is going to release the carpel tunnel in my left hend a week today, that two weeks from my first appointment! When that is done they he will see what pain is left and treat it if needed. Love Sue0

Hi Sue,
How's things with you? Glad you're getting the surgery-at long last!

Hi Magenta, Yes and the plastic surgeon was really good and explained everything, went over all my symptloms, even though his clinic was 3 hour late! I'm in a lot of pain this week from my neck and yesterday my GP changed my medication to tramadol and amatryptlne. The tramadol seem to be doing a good job so far!!
You seem to be going through the wars at the moment. I hope it all gets sorted for you. Love Sue0 -
Hi Sue,
I'm just getting on with it at the moment, trying to keep my job going. I rang the nuerology place today to make sure I'd been referred for the nerve tests. I have, but the waiting list is 6 to 7 months long  I'll be lucky if I'm seen by Christmas,
Take care,
