i was sitting in a waiting room today and was reading the newspapers, one had so much in it i wish i had bought it now.
Anyway it says nsaids can cause light sensitivity...might explain my pricky heat, itch itchy
Paper also said for arthritis sufferers walking in a pool is good for arthritis as strengthens the muscles due to pressure pushing against the water.

I had heard about the water thing but not about the nsaids. Very interesting, you should have pocketed it and came back here to share it0 -

Hi Oneday
I have seen some people 'walking' in the pool - there you go. They must have read the mail too!!
Light sensitivity? Oops! More prone to burn?

Hi I can't take nsaids, but I get prickly heat! I also walk in swimming pools on the rare occasions I go, as I can't swim!!!! Not my day today! Love Sue0

Hi One day,
Its nice to see you about by the way. I take the nsaids and live out side quite a bit as well as having a predisposition to lizarding and haven't noticed catching quicker or burning worse but it could just be that I have done it for so long it distorts the outcome so to speak?
take care,
Cris0 -
Prickly Heat! Eeek, had it once on holiday in Cyprus, I pity anyone who has to endure that even once! Regularly, I feel so sorry for you guys. x0

Yep, there is me, bashing out my few lengths and some old dears get in and walk in front of me, steadfastly refusing get out of the lanes, and then nobody swims! It does make me chuckle.....not. I've stopped my pool membership and am going in the sea for the summer.
The answer is to have dedicated pool sessions?
8) Its a grin, honest!0 -

Hi - I have become photosensitive since starting Hydroxychloroquine. I get prickly heat and it feels like droplets of water on my skin when I come out of the sun. I know it's quite common with many DMARDs but don't know about NSAIDs as I'm not on any ATM.
Hydrotherapy is very good for arthritis sufferers as the exercise is very gentle but is a good workout. I try to swim twice a week in a special therapy pool where the water is warmer than a normal swimming pool. I get very stiff joints when I swim in a normal pool.0 -
