Hi folks
DLA is paid regardless of whether working or not and not income related. Did you that if you are working you may be able to claim the disability element of tax credit. Most people I know who are claiming the middle or higher rate of care or mobility have claimed tax credit.
Its worth a try. Even my sister who is self employed (with RA) claims it. I work part time and my hubby earns a good wage and I get around 60 a week (I think).
If in doubt phone them up and ask.
Good luck
Les

Yes, you have to be working more than 16 hours per week to claim it and getting it depends on your household income. If it is above a certain threshold, you will recive it but not receive any money. Your threshold is different if you have no children and higher per child in the family. You can receive it as long as you receive any of the care component and it does not depend on the level. If you receive mobility only you will not get it. If you receive higher care component you will also be entitled to the Severe disability element.
