    Hi Juejue,

I am sorry your so down, pain can do that but you will hear from the pain clinic and they will help you soon. I hope it is all a bit easier for you today and please see if you can change gp's as I do know how alone and how hard having useless ones are.

I am sure A & E wouldn't turn you away, they are not allowed to they have to see and treat you and it could help to get you a referral. If your still hurting so much go in and see if they can help.

I wish there was more I could say. Sending you a cyber (( )) and I hope you have a better day. Cris x

    Hi,

See if you can get another doctors practice to take you on and just hang in there until you get the pain clinic appointment through as then you will get better treatment pain wise. You take care and I shall be thinking of you. Cris x

Oh and Julie if it gets really bad go in to A & E. x

i really do understand, i was at the same low point before i was diagnosed, it's a horrible feeling, nothing helps with pain and that makes you feel worse.
i've often thought about cutting the offending joints off but knowing my luck i'd still get phantom arthur!!
it's tough, i know that you sometimes need to talk, but i never wanted to come accross as a moaner to my friends, luckily i did have 2 good gps, without them i dread to think where i'd be now.
take care and feel free to message me if you want to talk.
don't od on painkillers, trust me it won't help.
i hope you start feeling better soon and do go to a&e, they have to help.

    Hi Julie,

There are so many different types of pain relief out there and you should be able to go see a doctor and get them to change it to some that work. Please don't think that because they don't work nothing will.

It gets easier I promise you, you may still be feeling the shock of it all and having useless doctors can't help. You will get there you know, and the pain clinic appointment will come through and they help, they really help. Go steady today and don't take too much pain relief and go into to A & E if it doesn't ease off. Take care, Cris x

    Hi juejue
I know how down pain can make you feel, but there will be something that can be done to make you more comfortable. Can you ask for a cancellation appt at the pain clinic if one comes up? it is important to have a good relationship with your GP if poss. What are the chances of your being able to switch practices?
As difficult as it is at the moment, you need to hang on in there till you get your meds sorted. Morphine may be strong but it is not always the most effective for everyone. Have you tried all the other things like heat pads, gently mobilising exercises etc in case it is the soft tissue spasm that is making the pain worse. Sorry if you have written all that haven had much time to browse through the site lately.

    Dear Julie

I have just seen your message. I am really sorry you feel so ill and down. Would you do me a favour and phone the helpline here, the number is at the top right hand corner of the screen. You may have to call a couple of times because the lines do get busy. They will know what to do. Peeps who have called the helpline have nothing but praise for them and they will talk to you for as long as you wish to do so and help you. Would you do that for me?

    Love
    Elna x((H))

Hello Julie, July seems a very long time to wait as you have such pain. Go to A&E, as you have a problem which is just as much an emergency as a appendisitus or broken leg. If you tell them what you've told us and let them see your pain, they are the people who can arrange emergancy referrals. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but thats not easy for you rto see at the moment and you need help. If you won't go to the hospital phone the helpline here or the Samaritans. Just get help, please. My love and best wises Suexxx

Hi Juejue, So sorry you are feeling so down at the moment. :( A couple of weeks ago I was at a really low point with severe pain and could hardly walk.It was a Saturday evening and I felt I just had to get some sort of help.My O/H took me to our local hospital where there is a walk-in centre called West Call where you can be assessed and given temporary treatment.I don't know if all hospitals have this sort of facility but it was a great help to me as I was given stronger pain relief until I could see my own GP. I do hope you will soon feel a little better and get the pain relief you need.Take care. Breane.x :)

Hi Juejue, I'm sorry you have been having a bad time lately. Sometimes the pain gets you so down. I am being seen at the Pain Clinic on Wednesday. I have been counting the days since I was first referred in January, over 5 months waiting. So strange to actually want to go to Hospital! I will let you know how I get on. I would definitely speak to your Dr again though. It took me a long time to get a combination of meds that work for me. They switched mines over a few times, but it did help. Yes, I still have bad days and feel so down like yourself but I am really hopeful they can help me on Wednesday. Try and stay positive. Another thing I'd add is that I have Diazepam for bad days, it relaxes the muscles around my spine and stops them going into spasm. This makes a huge difference to the pain. Take care x

Hello, Sorry you've been so unwell lately - it must be very hard trying to carry on as normal. Try and make yourself think that in the end your medication will be sorted out and you will have less pain to cope with. Do as has been suggested and try and take your mind off things, even if it dosen't last longer than 10 mins or so. Think of what you'd like to do when you feel better and how you can achieve it. But most important of all, remember that just as the good times don't go on for ever, neither do the bad times.

You probably think I don't understand and know what your talking about, but beleive me my life has been very odd mixture of experiences :? Wait and see, you'll come out the other side. :)
    Love Sue

    Hi juejue

I am sure your knee will go down eventually and you will not have to stay in bed for the rest of your life. Certainly not. If the knee is swollen it can be drained. I know your spine is not good either and I am sorry it is all coming at once. Things have a habit of doing that. Life will improve, promise. Ice packs decrease swelling too but don't put the ice pack directly on the skin, towel or some protections first but not so thick you cannot feel the coldness. Have the leg elevated when you sit. In fact it is not good to stay immobile for too long - that is what my physio has told me. Bedrest for more than perhaps a couple of days is not recommended nowadays. If you are going back to A&E in a weeks time what do they think they will do then, that they could not do when you were there this time?

Chin up, things will get better.

    Luv
    Elna x
