    Hi Lindas,

I haven't one but I did have surgery a few times and just wanted to say don't get scared, it will all be ok. They really do look after you and there is a very good chance you will feel less pain as soon as you have got over the opp. You take care and try not to worry and I wish you so much good luck. Cris x

    Hi lindas
don't worry I had a THR at the end of Feb they looked after me so well I had no complaints. As for pain I had less pain directly after sugary than I had before they even told me to take morphine (you have a button so that you can take morphine if you need it you cannot overdose the machine wont let you) but I didn't need it the pain was so much less. Physio got me out of bed the following day and walking with a frame the next day with crutches then sticks.
If I can help any further or you want private e mail me.
    Hope it all goes well

    HI,
I just wanted to wish you luck for your op. My little brother had a major op on his hip( not replacement as he only 13) this was just over a week ago and he's now back to his cheeky self. If it was me i would just take all the drugs that were avaliable and try not to worry. Take care Good luck

    Hi,
Just want to wish you luck for your thr. I had mine done in March, the pain afterwards is bearable, it is a different pain and pain relief is available, any questions feel free to ask

    Good luck! Good luck!!
i hope all goes well. Had back op, but that's all I can compare it to - my only advice would be to be positive and do all your excercises if you can. Take the pain releif (this IS important - I was told you need to keep AHEAD of your pain), offered. Eat fruit to keep regular
    Take care

    Hi
I had a THR 6 weeks ago and am fine. I can honestly say of wasn't as bad as I was worrying it would be and the pain has now all gone. The pain management in hospital was good, the morphine on demand was great as was the paracetemol drip. When on oral medication the best advice would be to take when offerred, don't feel the need to be brave and therefore keep ahead of the pain. At home take pain relief as prescribed for at least thefirst few days, do the exercises shown and you will be on your feet in no time hopefully. Feel free to send pm if you need any advice.
    Good luck

    Hi Linda
Sending you a big cyber ((((((((hug)))))))))
Nerves are natural, and I hope that this week passes quickly for you and you are soon on the other side.
I echo what others have said about the waiting and anticipation is the worst part, much worse than the reality of the op.
If you need to chat or want any tips etc.. feel free to pm me
    NB xx
