caring rhummy

We all hear stories of uncaring, thoughtless and rude specialists, but I just want to say mine is fab. After going through a particularly bad time lately, I was so surprised when he phoned me at home twice in a couple of weeks to see how I was doing. He personally phoned my gp and asked him to prescribe morphine immediately because of my pain.He has even saw me at very short notice a few times and he has booked me into hospital on Monday for 3 days for 3 steroid infusions and rest. Hopefully, by next week I should be pain free and get my life back for a while...yipeee.
Anyone else got any stories to tell about rhummies...good or bad.
Take care everyone.

Hi Les,
I am lucky too, mine is wonderful and I don't know what I would have done without his help and caring attitude. He knows my doctors are useless and even does routine non Rumo related blood tests that they fail to bother with for me. He has also done me 2 referrals to other consultants and well he is just brilliant! Take care, Cris0 -
My rheumy is great very thoughtful and thorough and also the rheumatology nurse specialists whom I see more often they are great when it is difficult to get to the rheumy.

Hi folks
I live in Sunderland and my consultant is newly appointed and possibly the youngest rhummy in the country. He said he is due to go on paternity leave very soon and he dosen't want to leave me in severe pain while he's off work. How thoughtful.....
I have a downs syndrome son (19) and he often asks how I cope and if I need extra support.
I'm looking forward to going into hospital on Monday for steroid infusions, it should give me a few weeks pain free..... yipee.....I am already planning what I'm going to do.....can't wait.
Take care
