my scooter is broke , I was telling a man in the shop mobility shop about my battery and he advised me to charge it up for 24hrs , this I did but when I tried it out it only took me 1/2 mile and then stared to run down , so when I got home I charged it up again only thing was the momment I connected the charger to the scooter it blew the fuse , now charger wont work , but the funny thing is my scooter has some life in the battery just enouh to light up when switched on, but sadly goes red straight away.
So I am of the road for a while, unless they will fix it for me as it is still under gurantee or replace it

Hi Mike, Hazel and Mike Jr
I'm sorry your scooter's on the blink. I don't know much about them I'm afraid but I'm glad it's still under guarantee.
I hope you're back on the road soon :-)

Hi Mike, I am shure if your scooter is still under gaurentee they will fix it for you, Perhaps it was the charger at fault and not the batteries but they should find this out for you.

Hi Mike
Too right they'd better fix it if it's still under warranty!
You've only had it five minutes and it has been your life-line!
Maybe the battery needs changing or the charger even?
Well get them out on monday to get it sorted. I know a good man down here in the midlands, but tha's not much use to you is it?!
I hope all is well with you all otherwise?

If under guarantee then they have to fix or replace it. However, the battery might not be covered as it could be classified as exempt, subject to normal wear and tear.
Hope that you are back on the road soon.

Hi Mike
Hope you get back on the road soon. We know you love your little scooter. Get on the blower, first thing monday morning and put on your authoritative voice. They will fix it for you. You have hardly had that scooter any time at all or that is what it seems.
How's Hazel doing and Mike JR? Are you having better weather this weekend than we are - cold, rainy and miserable over here!

Hi Mike
Sorry you can't get about a lot at the minute, you must make them fix it and get you back on the road. If you have to go to the CAB or Trading Standards but don't let them ignore you when it's still under warranty.
How are Hazel and Mike Jnr? Is Hazel feeling any better now? I hope so.
Love

Hi Mike r & Hazel &jr.
I had a similar problem with my scooter is less than 12 months old we had a problem with the shop I got it from so spoke to trading standards they said because of the cost of a scooter you have six years guarantee we spoke to the shop again and they did sort it. The manufacturer said you should charge the battery for a minimum of 8 hours if possible longer.
Hope you get it sorted soon

I phoned up this morning , and was told they will pass this on for an enigheer to call out , they will phone you in two days time to arrange the call out , but if the work is not under the guanrtee it will cost :?: :?: :?: :? :? :? :? :? :? :? I am very confushed I thought , I just had to phone sit back and wait for someone to fix my scooter now I am worried that the engineer will say this is not under the gaurntee work so £75.00 call out and £109.00 to for new battery if he sys this then I will have to say no to the repair.
I wonder if I can say to them if you cant fix it then take bck the scooter and cancel all remaing payments , would that frighten them
Justfed up
lets hope I can
if it gets fixed and I can get out aain .

Mike R and Hazel and JR.
When you bought the scoota you should have had new batterie's with it they have a guarrantee to last a year. so they should replace them free of charge. the only thing you have to pay for in the year is if you get a punture.

Hello, Thats bad luck, expensive bad luck. Try not to be too down, you'll soon be back on the road. I know how you feel as I live in the country with no busses and my hand is still too sore to drive.

Have the local radio's number on your mobile. Then if you need to, ask the engineer to wait as you want to talk to a reporter about the actions of the company as you are doing research on how disabled people are being ripped-off. Insist that to be fair he/she should give the reporter the company's side of the rip-off story.
Local radio (especially) and freebie newspapers are always wanting human interest, local stories. Local radio stations will sometimes break into a program to let you have your say live on-air or record it for the news or primetime.
Above all, be positive, don't prejudge the situation, it could all be OK.

Now there is a business for a new firm, AA/RAC for motorbility scooters, no fuss, just call them out if they can't repair then it goes straight to repair shop and you go home or get a hire one to replace it.
There must be a fair few of these scooters around now? Must be worth a few pounds a year if you fear breaking down?

Daft as it seems, your Home Insurance Policy may contain a clause for repairs to damaged 'invalid carriages'. It could be in the Contents section as NOT exempt from the policy. I.e., in the bit where it gives a list of what is not covered, it may say (other than, blah, blah, wheelchairs, invalid carriages, blah) which means it IS covered.
Complicated, but worth a look.

I rang again just to make , that someone was calling , I was stunned to be told that they think the scooter is ok, so I read the riot rack to the girl and she put me through to the workshop.
Told the fellow the problem and he knew straight away that it was charger, so he sent meabrand new charger and fuse, it came this morning by special delivery.
now why did they not do that when I first phoned on Monday, cant wait until the scooter fully charged, stand back pavements here i come
thank you all for your great support YOUR THE BEST:
