Bloods Tests

Just out of interest, how many of you ring up to get blood test results each month.
I'm always of the belief that if there is a problem, they would ring me or my rheumy nurse would.
Some 7 years ago though, had a blood test for possible gout, which was the beginning of all my probs. Did ring the surgery and the receptionist just said, everything was fine. I then went into see my gp because my feet were so bad and he asked me whey I hadn't made an appointment to see him earlier. "Well, your receptionist........" I told him
I honestly think receptionist believe themselves to be the GPs sometimes.

Hi
never remember to ring up for results, its hard enough remebering to go for the tests. Work on the same basis as you they will contact me if there is a problem. They have in the past. Bad about your receptionist though. I have met some fearful ones in the past. Our GP ones are lovely though.

HI
When I go to GP for my blood tests
I leave my record book, (supplied from
the rheumy dept re the drugs), and
a stamped addressed envelope, then
I can check on my ESR and CRP levels
to know whats happening with the
old body.
If its at the hospital, then no I dont hear
anything until the next visit which us usually
months between.
I too hope that I would be contacted if anything
is amiss but you have to wonder if the medic's time allows that.
