HI

well, have taken my last antibiotic today and my infected finger seems well on the way to beign fixed, so that is good.
BUT ...... today I woke up with earache, but it went away and has been fine all day. Now tonight I feel like my head is not my own - achy forehead and a small rise in temp (98.2) and now my ears have started up again.

None of this is bad in itself, I can manage although I feel really really tired, but I can't decide whether i should go back to the GP or not.

My rheumy nurse said I had to be clear of all infection before I could go back on the MTX or start the Leflunomide ...... so between a rock and ahard place if all this is my immune system in overdrive!!!!

any ideas other than placing myself at the mercy of my lovely GP tomorrow evening?

hi ya,ive not got any answers regarding the ra,i have oa.
but i can relate to the ears,im back at gps tomorrow cause my ear ache hasnt ceased.
its waking me through the night & im screaming with pain as i try to lift my head up of the pillow  so between wanting a pee & waking every 3hrs i havent got an answer.
i had antibiotics & last time i saw gp he told me the infection had cleared it was oa in my jaw  but the pains unbearable.

    Hi Wonkey,

Sorry your still not better but it can take a few doses of antibiotics to get rid of an infection if your immune system is down. I often take the cowards way out and phone and speak with the duty doctor who usually puts up another course.

My immune system is only suppressed by my own body not drugs and it may be different in different areas or maybe depending on how good the doctors are. Cris x

Slipper boy would never forgive me if I didn't pass on his Luv  x

how did you slip in there without me noticing Chris?

Thanks for all your comments folks - I feel better for just sharing that ........ my hubby must be getting sick of me moaning by now, although he never says so!

Skezier - Slipper boy's best wishes are greatly appreciated. I hope he is on his best behaviour ..... littlelegs would never forgive him if not :lol::lol:

Will see GP tomorrow I think - just to put my mind at rest. Will also be able to ask about the blood tests that the hospital did - bet the CRP & PV are sky high  :x

Oh well, better get off to bed now. Starting to yawn - always a good sign  might get to sleep ok today.

sleep well all, and tomorrow is another day (oops .... is it tomorrow already  )

    hugs ((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))

    HI Chris,

feel worse if anything this morning, so have an appointment for 4.10pm with GP. Thing is, I don't think she will be able to magic it away ....... so feel a bit bad about going - I am like the proverbial bad penny turning up all the time at the surgery just now. Oh well, getting everyone's moneys worth out of the NHS!

AS to slipper boy ......... Littlelegs says she won't love him any more if he doesn't try harder to help you out :lol::lol::lol: (worth a try anyway - although not sure he will take any notice?! )

    Hi Wonkey,

Hope it goes well and she helps it along a bit more so you at least feel better. Your not a bad penny and its people like us the in and out of gp's practices that keep them open........ Its true, without us they'd be down to one doctor and even poss closed! I must tell mine that at some point........ I know my last chest infection took 5 courses and didn't really clear up till I had the drip.

Slipper boy is pondering over Little legs, she did promise to put him in her production and he was so pleased to be casted...... He has been reasonably good this morning, except for a small incident with lodgers and seagulls......... I hope it gos well and don't feel bad every about the amount of times you see them. ((( ))) x

ta for all those positive posts.

feeling a bit better already - just had a surprise visit from our minister, and she has really perked me up.

She and I had a good old rant about the NHS - she used to be a nurse, and her mum is in hospital so she is finding life on the other side quite an eye-opener!

off to get some lunch now, and will let you know how I get on later!

    hugs to you all ((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))))))

littlelegs sends a few wags to slipperboy.

    HI scottishlass,

thanks for that ..... I got told off for using the 'old' measurements by my GP too! and at that time my temp was normal too ..... but I know it is higher than it usually is for me, and I am feeling awful too ..... and my ears are not good, glands in neck are up a bit, but at least for once I don't have a sore throat!!!

She checked my ears and they were ok, so we are settling for a blood test in the morning (FBC) and other than that it is a watching brief to see if it gets worse or better,

As to not getting my meds until all infection was gone, .... she laughed :? and asked how exactly the hospital thought we would manage todo that! :? as it was impossible to know anything like that for certain!

so ...feeling better in that i know I am not seriously ill or need antibiotics again, but no nearer to knowing when I can have my MTX, since I am not supposed to use the 22.5 syringes I have, and am waiting to see when I will get another delivery of 20mg. Christmas maybe?

    oh the joys of arthritis!

    Hi Colin,

I think I must have donated half my blood to the NHS already!

had another test today, and my normal bloods are due next week ........ at least i can have a chat with the nurse as she takes it!

Feeling a bit better though, and even managed Tai Chi today, so things may be looking up.
