Jeezo, you'd think after all this time there would be no margin for error. A little mistake can cause someone like you a big deal of stress and pain, hope it gets sorted soon for you. x0 -

My hospital in Kettering arranges the delivery to be made by Willow Health Care
They are really good and will ring 3 weeks before you run out to see is there are any things other than the MTX. They then deliver when they say a week before your last injection. So far so good with them. I think this has been the 3rd delivery from them and there are 10 weeks in each lot.

and I have this problem in reverse!
I had only just received my pre-filled MTX syringes from a different healthcare provider when it was decided that I needed a different (lower) dose. I now have 10 22.5mg syringes which I know will be completely wasted, as I have been told not to use them, and I know they will just destroy them because they cannot be certain that I have stored them correctly.
So ... I have a house-ful of MTX but have today missed my second injection. Have to wait for the hospital to create a new prescription, send it to the delivery company, and then get it out to me. Can't see them delivering on Monday as I haven't heard from them yet, so it looks like no injection next week either, unless they deliver on Friday and I can sneak one then. Typical too, as my hubby is off work next week and we are going out for a couple of days.
so Joyous, i am feeling every ache and pain wth you, and only wish that what I have you could use ...... what a crazy world it is! :roll:0 -

What are the advantages of the injection??? The tablets make me feel VERY SICK and have lost a lot of hair, i am very lucky to have thick hair and so nobody has noticed BUT I KNOW and do you have to inject yourself???? i take the tablets over a two day period to help with the sickness
Any help would be appreciated Gill xx xx0 -
Hi Jillydog
about your MTX questions ....... for me, the MTX tablets didn't work on the arthritis properly (I didn't absorb them enough) AND made me terribly sick. For me tien Injections have got rid of the sickness & nausea, and as a bonus they have worked much better on my joints too!
For the first year of injections I had tnem done at the 'local' hospital but this meant a round trip taking anything up to 2 1/2 hours. They then taught me to do my own injections and I managed that (with a fair amount of trepidation) for two years. Now though, I can't face it, but I get them done at my GP surgery by their nurse, and it takes 5 mins in adn out which is soooooooooooo much better than going all the way into hospital every week!
Hope that answers your questions.

hi all still no meds but have been promised will come on fri fingers x as my joints are really sore today, my thumb especially just dont feel myself at all tired as well . i do prefer the inj now i do it myself doesn hurt much at all i use to take 8 of the tabs but worked for a while but not as good as the jab i dont feel sick or anything , when i was one the tabs i grew a lump near my elbow looked like a 2 nd elbow it was horrible i wanted it removed , but they wouldn as it could grow back had one on my finger and one on my foot every one use to go yuck what is that so embarassin apparently you can get these when your on mtx tabs pleased to say its gone now since been on the jabs , the meds work by going straight into your system instead of taking hours in the stomache , so i would recomend it , im on enbrel inj as well was a problem when i had my new shoulder bit tricky with one hand nearly had to get a nurse out to me but i managed it somehow but i can imagine if your hands a are bad would be difficult to do , i have only had one accident with it spilled all over my bedroom i paniced as we have a dog and its poisinous to animals and other ppl rang the care team and they told me what to do thank god . got a reply from the hos about sendin my dr a letter with all my meds on shee recommended she send it me and i give it to the nurse at surgery as things go astray . good luck all joy xxxx0

Hi Jillydog, I take Mxt injections of 20mg, I really do prefer the injections, the tablets made me feel very sick, the injections do not make me sick, I do inject myself every week, it makes me feel a bit funny doing it, but put the tv on to take my mind off what I am doing, my hubbie has said that he couldn't do it for me love Jaspercatxx0
