Hi everyone

I got home yesterday, apparently a day earlier than expected, hospital was very busy so got me out early. I didn't mind in the least.
I opted for the spinal and was pleased I did, never heard or felt a thing, even had a little bet with the anaesthetist that I could move my feet, of course I lost,
Nurse in on Friday to change dressing, staples out on the 18th.
Armed with loads of meds, I'm pleased to say they aren't as important as they used to be, still a bit of pain in my knee but that's easily sorted, dr said it's to do with the op and my muscles.
The best news is I woke up this morning after having nights sleep and not because the pain woke me, first time for absolutely ages.
Bit stiff still so will pop in from time to time and try and catch up on what I've missed.
Get the party ready cause I'll be the one dancing on the tables at the bar, please reinforce them rehab

Welcome back Rita. Isn`t it a lovely feeling of relief now that it`s all over, and successful? It just keeps on getting better. Rest well, and keep up with your excercises. You`ll soon be out on the razz....Ange.

I am so pleased to see you are home and feeling ok. It isn`t as bad as you imagine is it?
Take care and build up your mobility slowly, and rest lots.
I would need a reinforced table but I`ll join you dancing when you`re ready!!!

Hello Rita, Welcome home! :D I bet you are glad its all over and done with now, and its wonderful you don't have the awful pain! Now you must get plenty of rest and don't be tempted to overdo things. What you need is lots of tlc from friends and family, sit back and let others wait on you. Well done for having the epidural too, thats helped get you home early I expect. Lots of Get Well messages along the line to you. Take care, Love Sue ((((xxx))) :D:D:D

Thanks everyone, it's great to be back. I think everyone I was involved with at the hospital from the health care assistants to the surgeons know about you all and how much coming in here has helped me.
A very busy hospital was part of the reason I got home so quick.
Nurse came in today to change my dressing and said it looked really good and clean and is healing well, staples out next Thursday.
I'm not doing much at all yet, sat in the chair watching tennis.
I do have some swelling of my leg and ankle, nothing to worry about though, dr said something about water retention and gravity so having to keep it elevated as much as possible.
I have to be very careful as my OH is cooking lovely meals and my appetite has returned, don't want to put the weight I lost back on.
Tramadol a thing of the past now.
Thanks again, love to each and every one of you.

    Hi Rita
I had some swelling on the op foot and ankle for a couple of weeks especially at the end of the day. my foot also went cold, I was a bit anxious about it but of was fine. Don't forget the calf and ankle exercises. You need to keep those legs on trim to party.
    LOL Elaine

So glad you are doing so well and that tramadol has been relegated to the past!! Well done!
Good to hear OH is looking after you so well. Tell him to reduce your protion sizes - might help? Oh knickers - enjoy it!
