If anyone is on Pregabalin, have they also had Clonazepam prescribed?

I was prescribed Clonazepam 75mg by the Pain Clinic to start taking instead of having the pain patches. one at night

I have been taking Pregabalin for about 6 weeks now and they seem to be doing the job. 2 a day

What I am finding is that I just cannot stay awake. I feel something is wrong. Have sent emails to my Rheumy consultant as he asked me to do yesterday, but he hasn't come back to me.
I think I shall just take half a tablet of Clonazepam tonight. Must admit, the pain has gone away but so has the rest of the day, doing nothing.

    Hi Joy,

What dose are you taking and have you just increased it? I was ok the end of the 1st week on 75 twice a day, wasn't so good going up to the 150 twice a day for a bit and the 300 twice a day still can make me trip....... Some trips are nice and one freaked me out so much I am now unlikely to take the 300 in the morning but if I have done something really silly I will at night.

They are heavy duty in some ways and the body will adjust but we all seem to do that at out own pace. I was originally taking the 75 three times a day and now I can do the 150 twice a day with no problems....... 'Cept i might drift a bit if I sit down, but i do that anyway

My Rumo told me to go up as I could and I have got used to them, though may have a bit more vagueness on the 300 twice a day. They are very good and its worth persevering with them.

    Take care, Cris

I was just about to say Skezier has recommended these to me, but he has beat me to it. I'm on Gabapentin and Skezier had said to try the ones you suggested if they didn't work. Hope they work for you. I'd love to hear your experiences, should I have problems with the Gabapentin in the future.

Hey Eck, I'm a woman........ I always have been :lol: They are amazing for nerve pain, I really owe them so much and they were given me at the point I was at my lowest and really felt life was a chore. They have enabled me to get so much of my life back! You have them as a back up if the gabapentin don't work and they do have side effects but then so does everything. You are doing ok on the others at the mo so long may that continue, take care, Cris x

The Pain Consultant, suggested that I increase the dose of Pregabalin, but not immediately. He gave me a prescription for the Clonazepam, which I started on Monday. told to delay taking the Clonazepam because of the effects it would have with the morphine still in my system.
I take Candesartan 24 mg at night. Wondered if these two were not working together. My BP went up to 203 over 109 two weeks ago . also have to take quite a high dose of Doxozosin in the morning the BP. It's a minefield really. I think, because I have been in so much pain for the last 8 weeks, this made my BP shoot up. Anyway the Pregabalin has done great job in settling the nerves down. The Clonasepam, plus the injections are helping to stop the shooting pains down my arms so wer're getting there. Just typing this posting has started my arms hurting again. All the fingers on my left hand are completely numb at the moment but hopefully that will be sorted when I have the Carpul Tunnel S op done. Just want to get the hip sorted now.

Well now I am feeling the opposite to what I felt last night when I couldn't keep my eyes open and I was so relaxed.

Now, I feel like a caged animal, I;ve got the shakes and my muscles are going into spasms and I feel awful.
Tried to get to bed but couldn't lie still. Is this normal?

Joy maybe it's withdrawal symptoms, I had this when I was on anti-depressants before. I'm sure Skezier will come back and help x

    Hi Eck,

Don't you worry, when I was young my father covered the Queens trip to Germany...... After it ended there was some ind of thing that families were invited to..... She said to me 'Hello little boy, whats your name?' and I did the stampy foot 3 year old thing and said 'I'm a GIRL!' 200 years ago she'd have had my head! Flower's or maid is a Cornish expression, and sometimes I write with an accent :lol: x

    Hi Joy,

I have to say before I got used to them I had a few nights like that. They have many side effects and one can be axnsitie, but it doesn't last, your body gets used to them and they really are incredibly good at knocking out nerve pain. I think it took me 3 weeks to adjust to 75 twice a day and another two weeks on 75 three times a day before I could take 150 twice a day and the 300 is still a bit iffy. Give them a chance and I used a lot of relaxation things and it did pass. Take care, Cris

lol Skezier  this will make you sick then. When I was wee, about 4 there was a big do on at Glamis Castle and it was (writing in accent) pure hoachin'. Loads of families there. Prince Edward, very young, did a walk through the crowds, he spotted me and came right over to my mum who was holding me up to see and said "what a beautiful little girl" and said hello to me :D My Mum thought she was the bees knees because out of all the kiddies he only came up to us. Sorry to go off topic Joy.

I tried gabapentin and felt no effects at all good or bad - so I gave up after I had ben on the max dose for several months. I too would like to hear your experiences - think I would like to try the preg myself.

WellI have taken the medications but just half of Clonazepam. I am sitting here at the computer, my knees ache from all the fidgeting I just cannot keep still.
I'm fine on the Pregabin whatever but it is since I mixed it with the Clonazepam so that must be the problem. I can't still be getting withdrawal symptoms from the Morphine surely. I'm going out of my mind here. Just went for a walk around the garden and my legs feel like they are giving way under me and I keep bumbing into things. Suppose to be going out for a meal tomorrow. Can't go if I am like this.

Well, I didn't think so but you can't tell me and my daughter apart from each other on photos of the same age. She is 3 now and everywhere we go people say she is like Shiloh, you know who's daughter. She has fair hair with big ringlets and massive lips like me and blue eyes. I think she's cute obviously but I'm biased, I have been approached a few times to put her into modelling but that is something neither she or I are interested in. But I say to the hubby that everyone thinks their kid is gorgeous and maybe folk go past and are like "what an ugly kid" and we just can't see it
