i often wish wheat bags would stay warm for longer, i found they really help but the getting up to reheat them is a nuisance.
as for steroid injections, i just find they make me feel better but then i over do it and suffer later!
i to am waiting to see my rhuemy, fingers crossed you'll get an appointment soon.

Hi,I don't have any experience of steroid injections but I have been on steroid tablets for two weeks now and have found they have taken away the pain completely. :) I started off taking 8x 5mg a day for the first week and am now on 6x5mg daily.I see my Gp this morning and I guess he will lower the dose again until I am off them altogether.Whether the pain will return straight away once I've stopped taking them remains to be seen. But it's been wonderful to be painfree and be able to do all the things I used to do before OA and RA struck. Breane. :P

    Hi ,
I am glad that the tablets helped you, I felt great once the steroid injection was given , like you no pain. I hope the gp is going to keep you on the tablets.

    hello

Sorry you'r back in pain again and today is so nice outside too. :? I've not had that kind steriod injection, only my wrist joints, for carpel tunnel. They worked for about a month and I thought 'Great, thats OK now' Then slowly the symptoms crept back. Luckily, I didn't have to wait long for my first hand to be operated on.

Hope this nice warm sun makes you feel a bit better.
    Love Sue

Hi Mike,Saw my Gp this morning and he's lowered my steroid dose to 4x5mg daily. :) I get my first appointment with the rheumy on June 24th so no doubt he will change the meds.I'm still on the Naproxen and Omeprazole and Gp says I have to stay on those until I see the rheumy.Think I would rather take steroid tablets instead of the injection as the tablets seem to have agreed with me and I havn't had any side effects except loads of energy!! Breane.

I am now down to 5 mg and on course to come off them completely by end of June. As you see from my other postings they are fiddling about with my other medication and I am hopeing the pain won't come back because there is no way I can take this new medication.
At the moment. I do not hve any pain at all like you. Except my hip that is but bearable. If I can get aover al the side affects I should be fine.
