HELLO Silly really to worry, but its getting really hard to undress and dress. When I lift my arms to pull off a jumper, my arms wont go above my shoulders and the shoulders hurt a lot. Watching me must be like watching an escape artist! :? I'm used to the pain and a certain amount of difficulty and had worked around that but now my body seems to have caught up with my mind!!! :?
Also my ankles are swelling a bit and are sore to the touch and when I walk they sort of hurt like I've run a long way. Perhaps I'm noticing things more. I may also be feeling strange with my dressing pulling on my hand. Hypocondria strikes again! :)
LOve Sue PS took my blood pressure and its a health low.

    Hi Sue,

It's not hypochondria......... Less we all have got it......... Hey we're cured! I just ware shirts and body warmers...... Socks are my worst problem and well try not to let it get to you, I know thats hard cus I woke as stiff as a bored and even slunk back in doors crying......... You see the pain clinic soon and they are good to varying degrees but for me the neck jabs were fantastic and the lumber one was for about 6 days so hang in there and help may be round the corner for you as well. Luv Cris x and a ((( ))) and a big :D

    Hi Sue
Course it must feel worse with you dressing still on :( Poor you - don't think it's hypochondria though. Your shoulders probably DO hurt!
When your hands is back to normal you'll have to go and see the dr? Bet you don't want to!
    Take care Sue

hi sue, sorry youve got more pains.
ive got limited range of movement in my shoulders, which makes dressing & undressing difficult.
washing my own hair is impossible.as i cant reach above my head.
the physio told me mine was down to inflammation in my shoulders.
but even taking ibuprofen for it has made no difference.
ive got exercises were i have to roll my shoulders backwards & forwards to try to reduce the stiffness, but thats getting harder to do.
sorry i dont have any real answers, but as mentioned a trip to the drs if it doesnt improve.
hope your hand is improving at least thats thing over & done with ah!!!debsx

    Hi

Sorry you have more pain. My shoulders hurt all the time. Last year winter when I was really bad, I could not lift my arms at all not even to shoulder height. I have learnt a strange technique to get tops off. I pick them up as far as I can then bend over as if touching my toes and gravity helps to pull them off. Yes I also look like I am trying to get out of a straight-jacket! Ankles also swell when I walk too much. Nothing really helps except raising your feet. l Hope the pain gets better soon. Vijay

Hello thanks for all the answers, jusr reading the made me feel better.

Somr of my problem is that after having the op so quickly and easily I felt on a high, but now I'm realising that I still have lots of bits that arn't working the way I'd like. Compensating for my left hand is throwing my body out of position so I'm putting more strain in places and they don't like it. :? Also this is how I am and sometimes I do get new pains. like everyjone.

I'm also stuck in the village as I cant drive, the stiches are in the way, but they go on Monday! :) Sorry to moan again, I am really pleased with the op so far! :) Love Sue

Hi Sue sorry to hear about shoulders but can sympathise. I get tops off by either asking hubby to help, (sigh) oh how times have changed! lol or by bending over at waist letting arms loll down and wriggling. Yes I know Dita Von Teese it most definitely isn't but needs must! Only suggestion for washing of hair is to slide arm up wet tiled wall not ideal especially when both shoulders have gone. Ooh more sensible suggestion for yourself and other people who have posted is the 'dry' shampoo I saw in lady mag the other day. Thought that would be ok for days when really bad put me on for a day or so. Sorry starting to waffle now. x

thank you fpr all the suggestions. typying is not so easy today as my fingers feel stiff. had a good idea this morning - let my hairdresser do it - then the one problem struck, i have to drive 5 miles to the nearest and with my hand i cant change gear. i suppose i could have gone all the way in first  :) sue

Oh Sue ..... I was going to suggest that, but realised about the drive. What a :x :x :x :x

Any chance of getting a 'mobile' hairdresser to come out to you just whilst you are not able to drive? A neighbour of ours broke her shoulder (well a careless passer-by ran into her and did it for her  ) and she has been ahving the hairdresser come out to her every week at home. She says it really made her feel better too!

Otherwise I'm afraid that I don't have many useful suggestions.

    best of luck!

Hi Stiches out Monday. I expect it will still be sore, but hope to be able to rig up some kind of padded glove, if necessery. I feel more positive today, even though I decided to have a bath as my husband was in the next room. Not the best idea yet, as I need both hands to get out and coudn't lie back. Husband fished be out though :) I'll stick to showers for a while yet, :D Love Sue
