hi all,ive changed my pillow again.
i have oa,cervical & lumber spondy.
i was getting to the end of my tether regarding the neck pain waking me all night & i'd seriously tried every pillow in the house, even tried the memory foam pillows & nothing was working.
so i started over again with the pillows,& im hoping ive cracked it.
ive put a big, thick pillow on the bottom & a softer thinner 1 on top.
the past 2 nights ive had a better sleep.
im not completely pain free far from it,but i dont seem to be turning over as much or waking as often.
the pillows now r level with my shoulder & neck as i lay on my side.
i also force myself up as high as i can on to the pillows(as high up the bed as possible)then try to stay there til i drift off.
the ear pain is still there when i wake in the morning but if im sleeping better i can cope with that.well another proberbly useless posting from me but it my help some1. debsx

Hi Debs
Hope you do get relief for a while from your pillows, it's horrible when you don't get a good nights sleep. Fingers crossed that you've found a solution.
Love

HI Debs
I really hope you've cracked it. I have less problems with my neck - shoulders don't like me lying on 'em, but back won't let me lie on it!!! What's that about?!
I usually only sleep on one pillow and like you am sick of trying!!! The only type I've not yet tried is the triangley ones.....have you tried those? Oh yes I have one between my knees at least to start with which helps the refferred back pain malarky.
This is not useless.
You know I have a Kingtson matress which cost - the EARTH - and i still have all this aches
I am so glad you've cracked it

Hi, Hope you'v found the answer, well hopefully anyway. The physio told me a while back that the right depth of pillow is very important. Apparently it should be just over a shoulders width, the trouble is we all have different size shoulder. MY memory foam seems OK at the moment, but I suppose pillows wear a bit flatter with use  you'll have to go round a bedding department trying them all out. Hope you'v got it sorted. Love Sue0

hi all, still getting a better nights sleep.
Toni,i have a pillow between my knees too,it seems to take the pressure of my bad knee, then i turn over leaving it behind  but then it helps to support my back when laying on my side.
ive not tried the triangle pillow yet,but its on my list.
im planning on staying upstairs when i get knees injected as loos upstairs,so the triangle pillow will help with me sitting up in bed, well hopefully.
im slowly getting through the list of things i need, electric tin opener is brill.
im so easily pleased
hope your all having a good day & the suns shining for you all.

Hi Debs
Argos have a back rest thingy to help you sit up in bed, it's adjustable and folds flat for storage. If you get stuck this might help.

Hi,
Did you know tha its possible to get a pillow riaser from occupational therapy? I can't remember the proper name for them my mind must be going!
It might be a way of trying before buying, or, if your lucky, not spending at all! Just a thought, love Sue0 -
Hello - don't know if this may help? I use V pillows on top of my other ones. I've just invested in another one (feather) and its so much more comfortable for me like that.
I also noticed on the internet big bolster pillow things that they make for pregnant women - they are about 4' and look very very comfortable. I don't know if they are a new idea? Thinking of investing in one of those to.
Best wishes0 -

Hi Debs,
I am sort of with Toni on that....... Us chickens eh?! Mind I think I'd be far more comfy if a cat or two didn't sleep on my head and pillow, they say its traction but you know IT'S NOT! Anyway you let this chicken know how it goes and if it helps please? x0 -
hi,well the necks still better but ive some how slept funny & set my shoulder off again. im not pain free but its bareable if that makes sense.
Toni weve got a computor upstairs so no problem there. If i have to i can knick stepsons laptop so you wont be getting rid of me that way
Cris what i funny thing to wear on your head....a cat or 2 at least your head wont get cold. if that was me i'd end up pulling the cat down to get comfy(use it as a pillow)
any way hope your all ok,is the sunshining :?: its lovely here.debsx0
