Hi there everyone, hope you are all not too bad pain wise today! I have noticed that currently there is nothing set up in the manchester area for young people with arthritis in terms of support or social gatherings. With the help of arthritis care i am looking to start a group particularly for young people, although anyone is welcome, as the most difficult thing i have found since being diagnosed is feeling like you are the only one at a young age.
I am 22 with chronic RA and know that it would really help me to seek out others in the area that are going through the same things i am. This will be a group based around support, so we can have good chats/moans about aches and pains and find out how each of us cope and share tips on how to get on with day to day life which i know is hard on anyone let alone younger people who want to go out and socialise, have to continue with school/college/uni or are just stepping out into the world of work like me.
It will also be a chance to have some fun! It will really be about us and what we want to do. This could mean popping out for a drink (not necessarily alcoholic!) Doing activities (that we are all capable of) or even getting in pros to each us how to exercise (even a few games on the wii perhaps!)
Please let me know if you live in the area and are interested in what i am doing, even if it doesnt sound like your cuppa tea let me know why and suggest what you would like in terms of support or social gatherings for people in similar circumstances.
Thanks to you all, i appreciate your support and hopefully we can get something started following your feedback.

Hi Kezzad
"WELL DONE YOU" for contacting Arthritis Care and trying to get the goup off the ground, I have started to attend the group at Wrightington, Wigan which I can say has been very informative and I post a message for those who dont seem lucky enough to have a group near them with bits and pieces of info that I think people may be intersted in. I hope you get loads and loads of feedback and young people in the area are interested enough to get in touch with you because as we all know it can sometimes feel lonely enough having Arthur so all the support with others in the same situation is good.
Good luck to you with the group and keep everyone posted on how its progressing.

Hi as said well done let us know how you get on and whether you get much interest have been thinking of asking if anyone interested in the Cheshire area. Although, whereabouts in Manchester are you on about organising it? If south end may ask if can tag along as not that far from you. Mind you what age range you aiming at as at 38 may be too old!0
