dla appeal

hi,
my hubby 52 has osteo arthritis in both knes and is on replacement list for one. He aslso has Type 1 diabetes and a big hiatus hernia. His renewal letter came and they have kept him on lower care!! He relies heavily on me for help.Is it worth appealing?? And how do i go about it............Alison

    Hi Alison I would say most definitely appeal from my experience they tend to knock you back once which annoys hell out of me because it is the likes of us that really need it. Help wise I would suggest a Carer Centre, where I live there is a centre in the town that helps you fill in the forms. There is a knack of filling them in with particular wording there is nothing dodgey about it they just fill them in a lot more forthright than we would. Although word of advice the experience is quite depressing as they concentrate on every area of the stuff we are unable to do anymore and I always come out feeling quite low. Maybe ask at GP's or next hospital appointment whether they know of one in your area. Good luck!

    Hi Alison
    try your local shop mobility ours has some one who has helped my husband fill in his DLA forms they were very good and helpful.
    I would defiantly appeal they will help with this as well.
