I know this has been discussed before but I didn't take much notice of the threads because it didn't apply to me, now I need your help, please.

My little and ring finger of my left hand have started tingling and buzzing. This has been happening for a couple of weeks now. They're not painful, at all, and don't go numb.

My left elbow doesn't straigthen and does have some movement unlike my right elbow which hasn't moved for years  My left elbow started being uncomfortable at the same time as the tingling started so I put it down to that being the cause.

Do you think it will settle down?
How long would you leave it before asking medical advice if it doesn't go away? (I'm not due to see my Rheumy till next year.)

Luv Legs who's in a bit of a quandry :?

    Hi Legs,

It may not be the same thing but I get that in my arms and in my legs if I aggravate my back....... So quite often then  Mine does settle or has the injections in it to make it settle! Saying that I think with you elbow being as it is and that not being normal you should see some one again. Sorry Flower but you do need to just get it checked as it does sound like a nerve is being either pinched or trapped.

You'll have to stop throwing a beach ball,

    Hi Legs

This indicates the ulner (ulna?) nerve being trapped, this can be intermittent due to muscle spasm or continuous. It can be caused by elbow problems or like myself by the neck joints being damaged and inflamed. I would def get this checked out just to be sure. I am not sure what meds you are on etc, but anti inflams can help or doc can prescribe other meds. Best to get checked though. Let me know how you get on.

    Take care

    Hello,
I think the elbow has the ulnar nerve which effects the little finger and the ring finger. I think if it doesn't show an improvement quickly you should get advice. Back problems or neck problems can also cause strange sensations.

Its best to get advice if you're worried, because if it is a nerve problem, the longer its left the more you risk damaging the nerve.

Thank you for your kind words, I was nervous, but all the support I had from people here helped so much. I hope your elbow and fingers get sorted! :)

    Love Sue

    Hi Legs
I have posted before with a "fizzing" especially in my feet and sometimes my legs I get this sensation only occasionally, but IF it goes on for a while it can be quite painfull, Dont know if it will be the same condition as you have but I would recomend you going to docs to get checked out just for peace of mind.
    Take care

    Hi Linda

Sounds like some nerve is not a happy bunny. Best to check it out.

I think all the replies have said that. I know it is easy for us to say this as it is not us having to make the appointment but I think it should be mentioned to a medic and written in your notes at least.

Thank you each and everyone for your replies and advice.

I'm monitoring the buzzing now to see if there's any difference during the day and night - if it's still bothering me next week I'll visit my GP to see if he can help.

    Luv Legs :D

PS Page, I'll let you know if any of my interesting bits start buzzing

    Hi Lindilegs

sorry, I have not been on line for a few hours, Had a bad 24 hrs
I have suffered buzzing bits in my left hand, the one where I had an injections inthe wrist, which was for possible Carpul Tunnel Syndrome and the other buzzing was from where I had an injection in my ulner (tennis elboe) Both are pretty bad again, only 8 days after the injections, so it looks like an op for the CTS and possibly for the tennis elbow also. Just waiting for my Rheumy consultant to come back to me.
    Has your buzzing gone now?

    Hi Joy,

No the buzzing hasn't gone but I do have periods in the day where it's less intense and barely noticeable, just a gentle tingle. It's always when it goes quieter I wonder if it's settling down and think it's not worth bothering my GP with.

As an aside another reason I don't go to my GP's is that I can't drive and I always have to rope someone into taking me  ...... anyone fancy a trip to my GP's with me

Legs, I will happily take you to the docs. :D It would be so nice to walk into a gp surgery without everyone rolling their eyes to say here she is again   :D:D

    Let me know when

    I luv leg

I can't drive at the moment either because my meds make me so drowsy. I think someone posted some time ago that coming off Preds makes you drowsy also. Still gettingthe buzzing but it is better than the trembling I had for awhile. Always something to think about in this game isn't there?

The other reason I cannot drive is because my car is under medication also. My OH is doing loads of welding underneath and practically putting a new floor in. 2CVs are proan to deterioration like that, but when it is done won't have to worry. The rest of the car is immaculate so it's shame to scrap it.

    luv

    Hi Lindalegs,
    How's things?
I get this all the time but also get numbness and pain. I'm on a waiting list to get nerve conduction tests-get this,6 to 7mths waiting time to be seen!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I'm waiting to get these tests cos they think I have carpal tunnel and trapped ulnar nerves in my elbows. Your symptoms sound very similar.
    Go to the docs
