Has anyone else needed a new hip because the head of the femur has died due to blood supply being cut off by steroids? Also, has anyone had a new hip who has osteoporosis? I am finding the pain in my hip is unbearable in bed but is not too bad in the daytime. I'm hoping the surgeon I am to see in July will replace the hip which has the dead femur.

    Hi there!

I'm 27 and suffer from AVN and have done for 15 years now. My hip has started to collapse so unfortunately im having a hip replacement.
It's a difficult disease and i have found it hard to explain to people and coping is quite difficult!

Afraid i cant help with osteoporosis.

Thanks, Vonski, I've written to the person with AVN.
