Having lost nearly all my teeth and having had arthritis for 41 years, I find that RA and poor gum health are connected. I never knew that before. I read some research about how treating the gums can help the arthritis. Bit late for me!

Well there's a depressing thought then - I thought my gums were the only bit which had escaped the RA

...........off to have a chat with my dentist.

    Thanks for the warning Granter.

someone told me an old fashioned "cure" for RA was to take out all your fillings or even all your teeth
of course this doesnt cure RA, but read that poor gum health can add to alot of other illnesses like heart disease etc.

I must admit, after I have injected MTX, I do get a sore mouth, all round and the gums are sore and inside the cheeks also. But I was informed that I just have to keep taking the Folic Acid and there shouldn't be a problem.
