hi,sorry that they turned you down, they very often do 1st time.
ring them & ask for a GL 24 & take it to appeal,in the mean time see some 1 i.e CAB for advice.DLA will look at the claim again as part of the process before it goes to appeal.
i got turned down 1st time, lost at appeal but i put in a fresh claim before it went to appeal & got awarded low rate care for 12months.now im in the prossess of doing my renewall, but im getting help from CAB filling in forms.
    Good luck,debsx

How you answer the questions makes a difference as to whether your claim or appeal is successful or not.
Can I suggest that you look at their Disability Handbook at http://www.benefitsnow.co.uk/handbook/Inflamatoryjointdisease.asp for the problems and answers they are looking for. Anything such as, 'I am in pain', is not really informative for them.

    Hi there

I know what a nightmare getting DLA can be!!
Despite having had numerous surgeries and no improvement in my condition DLA took my help with getting around off me 2 years ago, I tried to re-apply last March but was denied, then appealed in May but again was denied so I went to appeal.
Welfare Rights helped me - they supported my claim and acted as my representative at the tribunal (which although wasn't very pleasant) my claim was won and due to the severity of my condition, the renewal date has been extended until 2012!
Having somebody who knows how to fill in form correctly (and the way that DWP require) as well as having a rep increases chances of receiving claim by 80%. They ensure that you are dealt with fairly and will draw out all relevant info which you may not consider useful.

Good luck and don't give up.

    Best Wishes
