c-reactive protein

hi can any one tell me what c-reactive protein is i haven a clue is always on my results and wanted to no what it is cheers joy x

    It is produced in response to inflammation, doctors use it as a way to guage how much inflammation you have going on.
    I believe (may be wrong) that a 'normal' result is none, but if you have a small infection it can be slightly raised, if you have systemic inflammation (which most of us do) it would be very raised.

    hi emma jusy wondered what it was am at the hos in july for me check up so moreblood tests etc xx
