    Hi there

I think it is quite common for a stomach protector, such as omeprazole, to be prescribed along with most of the stronger nsaids. This would be particularly important if you are going to take them long term. You maybe need to ask your GP for a prescription for a suitable stomach protector if this is the case.

I take omeprazole in the morning before any of my other meds, which include naproxen, and I think it has been helpful.

    Bet wishes

    Hi Valval

Yes you should definitely, if your Dr. hasn't given you any go back and ask for something. I have Lansoprazole but used to have Zantac, higher doage than bought over the counter.

Hi,I've been taking Naproxen for over three weeks now and was given the stomach protector Omeprazole to take first thing in the morning,an hour before food.I then take the Naproxen with breakfast and another Naproxen around teatime with another meal.My GP said the stomach protector lines the stomach and helps prevents ulcer etc. which the Naproxen can cause.Luckily,I've had no bad side effects from either of these meds. Breane. :)

    Hi

I was told when you take any anti inflamms long term you really need to take the stomach protector as well. I take Lansoprazole, I think that's what they are called :)

hi, i take naproxen, i had terrible problems with sickness and indegestion, i spoke to the dr who said it could be the naproxen, so try not taking it for a while and see if it settles, it did! chemist suggested and indegestion remedy might help, it did for a short while but then stopped working, eventually my dr decided that i needed to try a different anti imflam, gave me diclo something, but i still had the indegestion etc, tried a few others but after months of different meds but no improvement dr decided to try naprotec, naproxin (which really helped with pain) and the stomach protector, it was like a miracle, really!! i now take the 2 tablets together twice a day and fingers crossed no more indegestion!
so i would defo say you need a stomache protector, it should be prescribed automatically for long term users, i think!!
