I was wondering if anyone else has this. I have had knee problems for ages and have an odd lump at the side of my knee, but last night my knee was really hurting and when I looked I have a dent right in the centre of my knee. Today it is very painful and I still have the dent. Anyone know what this is?

Hope you are all well.

Deb

    Hi Deb,

I think it might be another thing to get the gp or Rumo to check out, is it tomorrow you see them? If so take your list and don't worry about going through it all with them. a ((( ))) and good luck if it is tomorrow, if its not sorry I am no longer having senior moments I have moved to the full blown epics!:lol: Luv Cris x

Just about 3 weeks ago I asked my hubby what shape my knees have been cos they both now have depressions in the middle. Neither of us can remember what they were like but I think they were quite smooth and rounded. Going to ask the doc next time but will look on this with interest to see if you get an answer.

Mine are not any more painful than they were before.

    Hi,

If I stand in front of the mirror and look at my legs, my left one is knobbly and more rounded than the right. My right foot is now trying to bend out because of the deformity caused by the arthritis which is in my heals and ankles and toes. My right foot is 1 inch fatter than my left.

The shapes of my legs are completely different andlooks like I have a transplant.

I think the problem started back in my early twenties when I fell down a hole in the dark. Walking round viewing houses, it was dusk, went into this room and suddenly I just dropped down a hole in the middle of the room. I landed on my feet but my left leg took the shock and I injured my big toe. From my thirties, this leg has slowly been giving me problems ever since.

And even though I do have quite chunky legs, I can see a dent thing in the middle of my knee caps. I think this is normal.

I know I made a joke of the ridge in my right knee cap, but it is different from the other. I get a bit of pain sometimes, but think its referred from my lower spine. Mines a definate rigde of bone on the knee cap. I hope you let us know when you find out! :)

Well all, I saw my rheumy yesterday for my neck and ........ forgot to mention my knee!!!! I am having a massive flare and every joint inc knees, neck and spine are inflamed. He has trebled my steroids and I had to wait for x ray results and now have to have an mri to see if I need further treatment. He said I do have cervical spondylosis as well but it is the ra attacking neck and spine that is causing the main problem. He did ask if I had any questions, but my mind went blank lol :D:D:D Of course, now I have hundreds of questions like What is thta dent in my kneecap that has just appeared? :D Maybe you will all have better luck! Don't forget to let me know.

Oh by the way I took a list and forgot to get it out my bag! Why does this happen the second you get into a docs office?

At least he could see how bad I was and that I wasn't a 'fraud'!!!!! I am pleased with my appt.

    Take care

Hello, I'm not the only one to make lists and forget them!

I'm sorry you're feeling so rotten at the moment, lets hope the new and increased meds soon settle your flare down. Its funny, but its always a relief when the doc actually sees how bad you are. That alone makes you feel better! Take care. Love Sue :D

Joy, I hope that your knee feels a bit better today.

Sue, it was a change for me for them to see me when I am flaring, normally I am fine on appt days and I feel as though I am making it up! Which is why I take photos now! Hope you are well.

Chris, how are you? Are you any better? Have you been to the docs?

    Hi Debs,

I not so bad, maybe its stopping now? I have less swelling now if I don't do too much carrying or use them and will be on penicillin later (Got quite a deep cat bite today) so I hoping they do the job. I do always feel better on any kind of amoxicillin type meds, never know why! You go easy till you get the results from that scan and take care, luv Cris x

Joy, hope your thumb improves and you manage to get your grass cut.

Cris, ouch!!!!! that cat bite sounds painful. You want to watch it doesnt aggravate the arthritis. Having said that I also feel so much better on antibiotics its just when I stop them!!! Take care and don't overdo things.

Sue, Have a lovely weekend. My husband has had carpal tunnel surgery. It was a few years ago now. Have a lovely weekend.

    Hi
Its far too hot to cut grass, you won't do it any good! According to my husband! :) Thumbs can be really painful, can't they?

I think the only way to get through this hot weather is to rest and drink plenty  :) Take care, Love Sue

    Hi Deb

I have OA in both knees and over the years the left knee looks quite deformed! It is bent and where the knee should be is sort of flat and I have a huge lump on my upper calf which is fairly hard. The specialists says my left knee is totally shot and the right knee is going the same way. It is not a pretty site. I think I must have dropped a couple of inches in height! I may get my hubby to measure me later! I certainly can't stand upright anymore.

I hope that when it is replaced this lump will go. I'll be interested to read any replies to this post - I thought it was only me with odd shaped legs! I know it is the OA that has done this my legs were definitely not this way before.
