Hayrie, I have lupus and RA and hughes syndrome. I have had optic neuritis and uveitis which is connected to my arthritis. My advice is if it isn't getting better then go back to the eye hosp. In my experience they would always rather see you and check things are okay. If it isn't better tomorrow at least call them and get some advice. Let me know how you get on.

    Take care

    Hi Joyful

Yes, you are right, there are lots of things
to think about with the diseases.

Hope the Hydroxy has been good for you
unfortunately it didnt help me at all, I was
on a triple treatment of Hydroxy, Leflunomide
and Sulhasalazine, then it went to
Leflunomide and MTX of which I am still taking
after about 8 or 9 years now.

They recommend regular eye tests with
    the Hydroxy dont they?

Hope you had a nice day. Its been lovely
weather again up here in West Yorkshire.

Hi Deb i went to moorfields eye hospital yesterday they are gonna carry out alot of tests however they think i have uveitis which is linked to my RA. I'm scared and fear i wont be able to cope, i guess things will get better once its under control but at the mo everyday chores have become very hard. And i'm feeling very low and depressed about my future.

    Hi,

I have had RA for about 3 years now. Sometimes my eyes get very dry. I am told it is part of the condition. The rheumatologist and GP have given me eye drops for it, which seem to solve the problem. Sometimes I get the funny patterns going across my eyes which was very disconcerting. However I gather that is simply migraine without the pain bit which seems a very good deal to me. I don't worry about that any more.

    Thanks,

    Teresa

    Hi there,

I have had Rhuematoid Arthritis, for the last 18 years. However it has now more recently started to affect my right eye, causing inflamation, pain ect. I'm a 27 year old single mother of a very active 3 year old, who is about to start university for the first time in september.

I was wondering if anyone else has had it affect there eyes? and if so how do you cope with the condition affecting your eyes. I'm really worried about how i'm going to cope with this change.
And i'm feeling very sad and low at the mo.

    Hi Kath

I seem to be doing ok on the Hydrocholoride but my eyes do feel a lot more gooey. Normally they are quite dry and itchy because the MTX can bringon conjuntivitis I believe.

I have spent the day doing washing and getting over our weekend away. On Wednesday, we have to take our DIL(the one with cancer)to Leicester Royal Infirmary for some more tests so I am hoping it won't be too too hot.

    All the best
    Joyful
