please think of me today, i've got an appointment with my rheumy nurse and then an appointment with the hand surgeon to see if they can do anything with my hands.
some fingers won't bend and all my fingers are very sore and weak, so i hope they can do something.

the only problem is i took my daytime tablets instead of my night time tablets last night (i make up a weeks worth of tablets so i don't have to fuss around) so i didn't sleep a wink, i take amitriptyline to help me sleep, but i didn't realise until i took my tablets this morning, stupid me, i should of realised when i didn't crash out as usual! so i'm extra tired and drinking coffee to try to stay awake!!! never good.
i just hope i make sense when i talk to nurse as i'm hoping for a steroid injection due to my knees and hands being really painful and maybe changing my meds as the mtx isn't working at all, sounds like a christmas list!

please wish me luck and if i nod of give me a nudge!

All the best today, perhaps you had better make a list incase you forget everything. Is anyone going with you, to give you a nudge should you start snoozing?

Easily done, taking the wrong meds.

Let us know how you get on.

    Luv
    Elna x
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hello,
Try not to worry about the meds, the adrenalin will keep you going!
Why do we always do those sort of things on the very days we really don't want to? Probably, you where thinking about the appointments and your mind was elsewhere.

I wish you the very best of good luck for a 2 good appointments, I hope you come away feeling you're getting somewhere.
Thinking of you, Love Sue :)

    thank you all.
the rheumy nurse said that becuase my bloods came back lower than they have been in 2 years she isn't going to look at changing anything, but i don't feel this magic! ok, so most of my joints are quite good but my knees and left shoulder are very stiff, my knees in fact are waking me up at night but she said she didn't think it was worth messing with meds. i have to see rheumy in a few weeks so we'll see how my knees are then!

oddly the hand surgeon said that the ra couldn't be that well controlled if my hands are bad, so who knows best?!!!

anyway, what was odd was that before i saw the actual hand surgeon i saw a member of his team, he said that there was nothing surgically they could do as the tendon in my thumb is not ruptured he thinks it's a muscle weajness, so said i needed to see a physio and then an o/t who would make a splint, then the actual hand surgeon came in and said almost the opposite.
he said that it's common for ra to cause fingers and thumbs to go into a 'z' shape, which is why it the top joint that won't bend and the muscles in the thumb are sore and feel like they are stretching when he physically bent the top joint.
so i am having an mri in a few weeks then i will see hand surheon again and he'll decide what needs doing, he thinks surgery will help but wants to check the joint properly 1st, so i feel he took more notice, i said to him that it just seems the slightest knock makes my fingers stop working and thats when he said the ra in my hands is not responding as well as other joints, so he'll look into that to, so all inall it does sound positive.

thanks again for all your well wishes, sorry i went off last night but i was very tired and slept quite well, so feeling better this morning.
