Advice on leg wedge/pillows

At the moment the only way I get comfortable at night is to elevate my legs with pillows (I need 4). The only problem is that they don't stay in that position especially if I need to get up during he night.
I'm thinking about buying a wedge pillow from Bupa cost £41.80. As I have OA in both knees I wanted to know if anyone has tried a wedge before I splash the cash on one! I tend to sleep on my back as its too uncomfortable to sleep on my side. I've got used to it now.
Also, I find it difficult to sit on the sofa may also have to invest in a seat pad. Suggestions welcome.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear you are so uncomfortable. Your post reminded me of things we used with people when I worked at Leonard Cheshire. The OT provided people with triangle shaped wedges and also something like a pillow only not soft and shaped for the knees to fit in with velcro to hold it on. I can't really explain it very well, Sorry  Anyway, I wondered if you could ask to see an Occupational Therapist and explain your problems to her and see if she can provide anything. Your GP can refer you. It may be an idea to ask and see if you can get something from OT rather than pay the large prices some of these specialist places ask! Hope you find something somewhere.

HI
I've seen what you described online. I think you're probably right I should see an OT as I need other bits and pieces to make life a little more comfortable. I'm seeing my GP in a week or so and I'll ask for a referral.
Regards

Hi Valval
I had a look at the site (begins with an "A" the shop and ends with an "i"! That is a great price!!! I'll be off on Thursday morning to buy one. It's a huge saving what a difference from £45.95 to £9.99!
I saw a perching stool there for £12.99 and didn't buy it. The next time I went it was gone.
Thanks so much for the tip!

Hi
You're right. I'll have to get up bright and early to get it. I'll let you know if I was successful. It means setting the alarm early - I'm like a robot most mornings!
Regards
