    Hi Jenny

At least, as you say, you have a diagnosis now. I am not on amitriptyline but it comes in strengths ranging from 10 to 150 mg. I hope you soon get the dosage sorted and good for you for being positive, that is always a good step in the right direction.

I do not take this drug so cannot report back to you, but I am sure others will post soon and answer your question.

    Hope your weekend goes well,

    Luv

i take 50mg of amtripyline at night, along with loads of other meds.
so not as much as you,but i did read that the higher doses were for treating depression. thats what the leaflet says anyway.
i spend to much time reading
hope it helps you, when i 1st started i felt like a zombie 1st thing in the morning,i started on a lower dose 20 then gp upped it to 40 then 50 as i still wasnt sleeping,i still wake on turning(pain)but ive got used to it now.
the zombie feeling does wear off.debsx

Hello I know theirs not a great deal that can be done to cure your fibro, but at least you'll be able to know what your fighting and what things are suitalbe for you to do, to make the fibro easier to live with. Love Sue

Hi Jenny I have Fibro was dx 2 months ago I have started on Amitriptyline I have been started on a low dose of 10mgs going up to a point that I can sleep on it I don't sleep at all. My biggest fear is that I won't get any better at all as this can happen. I hope that you get all the help that you need. I can give you a couple of sites that can give you a lot of info on fm. The thing is is that I have just been to the doc to talk about a wheelchair and she thinks that I should have one as I can't manage what a blow to me I thought I was doing better lol
