Hi, there was a thread a while back about this and it seemed that clumsy and arthur went hand in hand unfortunately. I know I am always bruised from bumping into things and am always dropping cups and plates etc. You should get it checked with your doc if it is a new symptom though just in case. Let us know how you get on.

i to am always bumping into doors and other large visible objects!!, dropping stuff (plates and glasses mostly!) i seem to of totally lost my ability to monouver obstacles nowadays!!
not sure if its an arthur thing or not?0 -
I was born clumsy so I can't blame anything other than myself.
Maybe my genes? There's a thought.0 -
Hi
I'm definitely getting clumsier! I was moving a box of china from the sideboard when we were decorating a few weeks ago and managed to drop the whole box! Nothing survived. I'm surprised I have any dishes left.
I broke a mug yesterday. I'm certainly jolly clumsy first thing when my joints are stiff from sleep and late at night when I'm tired from the days efforts. My husband says I'm a danger to society and that I was always that way!! He likes to tell the story of how I managed to get superglue in both my eyes whilst trying to repair my son's trainer. That resulted in 2 trips to the eye hospital to remove the superglue that had hardened to glass like pellets in my eyes.
I also fell over in the kitchen last month and like you was black and blue afterwards. I tripped over my walking stick! I blame recent disasters on my OA.
My husband always brings my tea in the morning to avoid any early morning disasters!
I hope you didn't do too much damage to yourself and are feeling better.

Hi Valval
No wonder you fell over!! You did too much. I tried walking to the docs surgery which is about 15 minutes away and only made it to the bottom of the hill! I had to phone my son to pick me up!
Hope those bruises get better soon.
You'll laugh about it later!
:P
I'm off to prepare tea - everything's out of a packet today - I just cannot be bothered to prepare anything. It's cod in breadcrumbs; oven chips; peas and a salad. Easy!!

Hi Val,
I am sorry you are having a rough time, I hope it doesn't last too long.
Its ok to get take a ways etc (we can't get them here so go for it!) and as to the falling your not going dizzy before at all are you? I just wondered as I have spondylitis in my neck and C2 is effected quite badly and it seems to cause vertigo which can be controlled. Bumping in to things and dropping things, well I do it a lot and I sometimes think in my case its the tablets I am on, they can space me a bit! A big ((( ))) for you and hope your soon feeling ok again. Cris x0 -

i have read dips in blood pressure due to meds can cause balance problems i have had a few falls since ive had ra hope you will feel better soon joanneJoanne0

Hi Balance problems can be caused by the inner ear. I wonder if something like swelling in the jaw, could effect the pressure in the inner ear. I'm just guessing, I'm no medic! Love Sue0
