Hi All,
I went for my pre-assesment yesterday and I am fit for the knife! The consultant went through the procedure and i spoke to a physio and an OT. They were very helpful and I am getting some aids to help me around the house delivered.
Been told that I will be on crutches for 3 months and the first 6 weeks have to be non load bearing on my right side. Was also warned about the post surgery pain.
Now nerves have well and truly kicked in and my stocmach is churning and I feel sick.
looks like it wil be a long haul but should be worth it n the end.

Hi Anne
Just to wish you all the very best for your forthcoming op and a speedy recovery. It is a hip op with a difference isn't it? It will definitely be worth it in the end. We look forward to hearing about your progress when you feel able to do so.
Good luck!

Hi Anne,
Glad you are getting the help in advance and hope they don't keep you waiting too long for the date as its the waiting that helps to get the nerves going. Good luck for a good recovery and it will be worth it. Take care, Cris0 -

Hi,
Thanks for your best wishes. I go in next Wednesday and the op is on the Thursday so I don't have too long to think about it.
Elna, yes it is a hip op with a difference, osteo chondrlplasty. Hopefully I will reap the benefits of it.
Thanks again.
