I suppose I am paying the price. Last Saturday - making 90 favours, 2-3 days painting - trips to airports to pick friends up - printing 100s posters and paperwork for art show. etc. etc. wedding arrangements etc etc.
woke up this morning screaming with pain again. Can hardly type this at mo.
going to ave to chill out rest of weekend, take more painkellers & sleep
don't u just get so fed up? to add to everything and I would like to know who shopped me :(  to the DLA new forms arrived this morning. We hav e a mole in the camp!

Have a completely brand new pain too. Not in the same place as my tennis elbow pain was. This one is where I lean on my elbow, which is just under/more to the inside of the elbow. Quite a big lump there too. So so painful. Knees are swollen too as are my heels and toes. Look like big sausages. Do you all recognise any of these signs?

Off to bed. going to chill out now until Monday.

    Hi Joy

It sounds as though you really have been overdoing things. I'm sorry to hear you are in such pain, and hope you will feel better after a weekend of rest. It is very annoying when you want to do so many things, but your body refuses to obey your plans.

Next weekend, my three grand-daughters ( aged 11, 6, and 5 ) are coming to stay for a week, and we will be taking them out quite a lot. I am really looking forward to seeing them, but at the same time I am worried about increased pain levels and general tiredness keeping up with them.

Hope you will feel better soon,

    Joan

    Hi Joyful :)
Oh, I know only too well what you're going through!! Its dreadful isn't it - to make up for all the 'wasted' time spent in pain we dash round like loons as soon as we feel well enough and then of course do too much and its back to square 1!!
My latest flare-up of OA has meant 5 weeks of doing nothing, except packing in one of my cleaning jobs as the work was too heavy and I just couldn't face returning to it!
I've spent the last week madly making jam, chutney and marmalade - something I've never done before - and probably gone totally over the top in my latest addiction, both in terms of the quantity made and our ability to eat it, and today my back is playing up again!!
Its so frustrating isn't it - you just want to get on and do things - it seems such a little thing to ask to be allowed to do!!
Hope you're feeling better soon - and try and take things easy!! :D

    Hi
I was exhausted just reading your email. You have been over-doing it!
    :P
Have you told your GP about the pain in your elbows? The elbow area can be sooo painful! You are wise to rest.

Take it easy. I hope you feel better soon.

    Dear Joy

You really did go into overdrive over the past week, more than even many people of your age, without all your ailments, would have done. I know, the feeling, though, needs must and so you get on with it and now unfortunately you are paying the price. We should not have to "pay the price" though at our age, should we?

You obviously know that rest is the answer, as I am sure this has happened to you many times. We always think, we'll be ok this time and get away with it, but nooooooo, it does not work like that, does it?

Have you any idea who this interfering moron is, to be stirring things up for you on the DLA front? That is all you need, isn't it, on top of everything else.

I do hope soon feel a little better.

    Love

Oh dear Joy you have been over doing it a bit haven't you. Rest and relaxation is what you need now, then try and take it easy when you're feeling well enough to carry on with all these tasks you have.
I'm not 100% sure but I thought I read on here somewhere, that DLA etc. do have spies around that look at sites like this.
I also read in a newspaper they have private eyes that will follow people who claim, over a 3 month period taking photo's to see just how disabled they are.
One of the contestants on BGT claimed DLA, they stopped his after he appeared break dancing on the programme.

    Hi Smilla :D

I am sorry to hear you had to give up one of your jobs. Your OA has definitely taken its toll then. Great though, to see that you have taken up making jams, chutney and marmalade with a vengeance :lol::lol: You will have to find an outlet for selling them! :D Thought of your local tourist shop if you have one, sandwich shop or charity shop, offering them a percentage on what you sell...... I buy all my greeting cards from my daughter in law now. Helps me and her!!

Hope your back starts to feel better soon so you can make some more preserves!! :D

    Hi Elna!
Today I've made Lemon Marmalade, Nectarine Conserve and Caramelised Onion Chutney - the Lemon Curd went wrong! I think I overcooked it as it set rock solid!! My friend runs a B&B so I have indeed found an outlet for my creations! Apparently if you keep it in the realms of only selling a fairly small amount on an irregular basis you won't have to register with the council and have entirely seperate kitchen facilities etc for this - I understand even the WI came under scrutiny from the Health and Safety Brigade in the past with all their selling of homebaked goods, and as everyone knows theres nothing to beat all those good ladies cooking! As I have now worn myself out I've just spent the last 3 hrs collapsed on the sofa with a hot water bottle and blanket whilst watching Harry Potter on the TV! :D
Hope you're not feeling too bad today?
    Love Smillajasperson x
P.S. I don't really mind having to give up the cleaning job!

    Hi Smilla!

Brilliant! Passing on your creations to your friend's B&B! I bet you have worn yourself out with all that work today upto your eyes in onions, nectarines and lemons! :D:D You will be getting an allotment next!:lol: You sound a very cheerful, get on with it, nothing knocks you back for long, kinda person. You certainly deserve to have a lie down on the sofa watching TV after all that work.

I know what you mean. I have done a lot of cleaning jobs in the past and when I have given one up, wonder when I ever found the time to do it. I still do a couple, which are hard work but well paid, so I just stick with them. I have got choosy in my old age :lol:

Hope you have a good day tomorrow,

    Luv

    Hi Joan

Just logged on. Have been resting first in bed, then in my comfy chair. Just can't get comfy in bed at the moment because I can't get me knees and ankles to stop touching each other without hurting. I can't lie on my back because my heels rub on the mattress. My chair is really good, so I might stay in that for the rest of the night!!!

I need to be fit for next Tues - promised two of my grandsons either a day painting if it is wet or a day in the park. I can't disappoint them. I'm sure my Italian friends are going to ring tomorrow to see if they can come over. Just can't haven't the energy what do you say. When they come over from Italy and expect to see you a lot.
