hi guys and gals,
with the help of arthritis care i have organised a new support/social group for the north west....

our first meeting is on Thursday August 6th at 6pm at the Lloyds Bar/Hotel in Chorlton, Manchester

If anyone is interested in popping down please let me know, I am 22 and have suffered with RA for a while and want to get to know others like myself in the area and how you cope.

Thanks
K Smile

    What a fantastic idea.
I'm not in the area unfortunately and not sure I'm young enough at 32 either! I wish this sort of thing existed for parents of young children as well. We could swap tips on how to get kids into car seats etc.

I wish you all the best with the group and this will bump you back to the top of the list again.

That is just brilliant. :D:D You have done something positive along with AC's help and I really hope that you get good support by peeps attending. They don't know how lucky they are in your area. You are a star :D:D:D

    Hi C4thy

You could do the same, with the help of AC and get a group together for parents of young children in your area as well as other young peeps.

Elna, I did occur to me. I'm struggling through post natal depression at the moment but it might be something positive that I can do as part of my road to recovery. I'm going to start by asking my health visitor if there are any other mums in my position in the area who need an understanding friend.

    Hi again, C4thy!

I have just had a look at your past postings and my goodness you have had and do have such a lot going on in your life as well as a little one of nearly 4 and another of 10 months. I have a grand daughter of 11 months and can see how much work she is when I have her for a goodly number of hours. She is starting to get into everything and is such a wriggler when changing her nappy, she hates to lie on her back for a second! Sometimes I can distract her with a toy but often not! Poppers are not too bad for me, except when I miss one and have to start again! That is annoying!:lol: She is also no lightweight, anymore to carry around! I love her to bits though and would see her every day if I could.

Those growbags are good - never had them when I had my babies! The disposable nappies have come on a long way too. They were just coming in when I was using nappies on my two and I only used them when out visiting and found they leaked so had to take lots of changes of clothing for them!! Happy days! :D:D

That would be a good start asking your health visitor if she knows of any other mums locally in a similar position to you. If you felt strong enough to get in touch with AC about starting up a little group near you, it would definitely boost your ego no end if it got off the ground and quite rightly so and if not, you can still pat yourself on the back for trying. You can get it organised but you cannot make people attend can you and it is to their disadvantage in the end, if they don't support the group.

I think you are doing really great. :) It is not easy being a mum when in good health so don't underestimate yourself too much. As long as children are loved, cherished, washed and fed, they do fine.

    Chin up,

    Luv
    Elna xx

    C4thy :D

I have bumped up the thread that Toni suggested you to have a look at if you wish to know where some of us live. It is on the Chit Chat Zone postings.

    Bye for now,
