Hi

I may be having this done with a view to having a THR or resurfacing

any info would be good

Thanks

Gemma

I'll third that... suppose to be having that done too but they've changed their minds. Think I'll end up getting it done sooner or later though so am interested in what it involves.

All I do know is that it is done under x-ray.

Yes, I have had two injections in my hip and will probably be having another next week.
I have been having treatment with bursitis, and I was told that I had to limit a lot of activities because of it. This involved swimming, aqua-robics. You think they would have helped, but I was told to only do exercises where you are laying down on the floor. Mind boggling I know

Think I have overworked it again, but I hate being held back by it. Very frustrating.

Not had any Xrays on it, but expect that will be the next thing

Good luck with your treatment. Hope it helps.

I have had the heap this past while, hip injection prior to replacement and spine injections. The hip injection was great but for me it only lasted four weeks, so they did not give me another. For some people last months. I found the spine injections worse that the hip.

    So good luck

    Hi Gemma
I have OA in my hips, the left is the worst one and I had a cortisone injection into the hip in April and it made no difference at all, but everyone is different so I suppose its worth a try. I will be having a replacement next month sometime. If you do go on to have the injection into your hip, its nothing to worry about you will feel a sensation into your hip when they inject you, but its not too bad and its all over in a few minutes. Several years ago I had a cortisone injection into my lower spine and that didnt work for me either. but like I said it works for some people.
