Hi there,
I would brave it and get the injections they might just help. I got some in jan and for about a week after my back was worse but then it helped. At the minute I need another one and am going to go again. But hopefully you wont get a virus this time
good luck0 -
Hi Chrisov
I am seeing the specialist re my lower back mri this Friday. He has said that an injection may help me but of course this may change when he sees, what is going on. If I am offered an injection, I shall be pleased to accept. I have had neck injections under anaesthetic and by xray direction - that way they get the precise point as to where to inject. Please don't cancel - you will be fine and if it works for you that will be an added bonus. Look on the bright side - nothing ventured, nothing gained. If it does not work, you have tried it so, things can go on from there. If you do not try , you will be in limbo, wondering forever, if it would have helped. It will not hurt, as you will be asleep. You will not be out for long.
Go for it, I will be thinking of you on Friday. My appointment is at 12.15 p.m. When is yours?
Look forward to hearing how you got on.

Easy to say I know but I would have it cos if you don't you won't get better on your own.Bite the bullet and know that all your friends on the site are behind you 100%.
Wishing you well

hi,im going to hospital on friday too.
this is my 1st time for injections into joints so im nervous too.
but i'd do anything for a little relief as the painkillers only take the edge off. Today ive woke to striking pains in my l/knee & scream out everytime it strikes.coming down the stairs knee feels like its giving way.strange but ive not had so much pain from it before, not this kind of pain totally different.
good luck with the jabs.
looks like friday is a busy day for a few of us AH!!!!debsx0 -
Hi Chrisov, Elna and Mash,
Good luck to all of you for Friday.
Chrisov, I understand your apprehension. I am a wimp too! Maybe we let our imaginations run away with us. If we can just pluck up the courage, things don't turn out as badly as we think. The chances are that the injection will be OK, and will help you, so I think you should go for it.

Hi Chrisov
Be brave
It could be soooo worth it :!:
I do undertsand your fears as I am a needle phobe myself
My most scary one was amnio with Lucy as I worried she might get jabbed!
Get it done and then let us know as soon as you can that you are ok.

Hi Guys
If you dont go youll never know
most Spinal injections are just the same as all the others just takes a little longer but at least you get the pain killer first. you have to get it done for your own sake

Hi Chrisov
Do go and get the injection as if you dont
you will be wondering how it would have been.
You arent a wimp, no-one enjoys the needle.
Be thinking of you, and others who have
appointments tomorrow.

hi there
i have had them done.
they can be a little uncomfortable but not as nearly as bad as the pain you feel in your back on a day to day basis. They take a few days to take affect but once they do they do help so be brave go get them done. its got to be better than living in pain. take care0 -
Hi just wanted to wish you well for your appt. I hope it goes well for you and brings you some relief.
Take care

Hi chrisov
How you doin ?....... I am back from my appt and will be having injections under xray in my spine when I get the appointment. He wishes to see if they help me and my slight curvature of the spine, which is causing my sciatica. If so, and he is certain that is where the problem lies, a minor op may be on the offing for me. He added as he said previously, it is not a good idea to try to straighten my spine, as he would eventually have to do it all, and of course there are risks........ He also mentioned, over the years my spine has adapted to the problem and I have coped ok.
Hope you call in soon and that all is well with you. I was lucky with the rain and did not get soaked, like some people today, hope you did not either.

Hi Elna
Quite a lot of info you got today I would say.
At least it was a productive appointment.
Hope you dont have to wait too long for the spinal
injections and hope even more that they work for you
and that dreaded sciatica and pain you have put up with
for so long.
Wonder how Chrisove got on today, maybe he will
inform us soon. Hope he is ok.

Hi Chrisov
Thanks for asking, I had already sent the message below on this thread yesterday but perhaps you did not read it. I have copied and pasted it for you. Shows I was thinking of you yesterday, as I said I would!!So pleased you went and all was ok and the staff were kind to you - and why shouldn't they be? Hope things look up for you with these injections.
