Hello Everyone,

I am home after the surgery on my hip. I was in for 6 days and the consultant seems pleased. I don't know all the ins and outs apart from I have 3 pins in my hip will find out at follow up.

I am very sore and tired and have a good stash of drugs home with me and will take it easy. R&R for the next 6 weeks, on crutches and to be non load bearing on my right hand side. Then back to the clinic, physio and the hard work. I have also been referred to the pain clinic which is positive.

Will keep you all up to date on my progress. off for a nap now1

Anne

    Hi Anne

Great to hear that you are back home now with your new hip. Look after yourself and if you do as you have been told you will be fine. Rest up, while you can and I wish you a speedy recovery.

No looking back now, only forward :D

Look forward to hearing your progress when you feel up to it.

    Luv

    Hi
Glad to hear you are home again. And pleased that it has gone well. Take care and rest as much as you can, it is hard to rest, but worth it for a smooth recovery.

I came home Tues tea time the seventh day after op for right hip replacement. On crutches and swinging my right leg sideways and back which I havent been able to do for 5 years.I have a lot of catching uo to do but will take it carefully.

Overall a better experience than I thought it would be.
REgards and hope you recover well too

    Thanks everyone.

I have been told complete R&R for 6 weeks which is easier said than done. Always want to do a washing or get up to something much to my husbands annoyance.

There has to be no movement or weight on my right hip for the next 6 weeks and then after that the physio will start.

Must admit I had a fantastic consultant who provided a lot of support and aftercare.

Will keep you up to date on my progress.
