It's bad enough having OA but now I'm having hot flushes! They just come on unexpectedly - one minute I'm cool, calm and collected and then the next I'm hot all over and have to fan myself to keep cool. It really is embarrassing!

Anybody suffering with these waves of heat? My GP won't put me on HRT because of my blood pressure. Are there any natural supplements for this?

Being a woman is jolly tough some days!

    Hi Sharmaine
Not there yet myself, but will be ready for it!! (not!)
Have y9ou tried those sprays (magicool?) you can get from chemists.
I quite like them when I'm in trouble heatwise...
suppose you could check with GP or pharmacist to be on the safe side?

    Hi Toni
I have one of those sprays. It's fairly cool today and I had a hot flush in the car so had to put the air conditioner on! Thank goodness they don't last too long. I will speak to my GP. I bet she hates me walking through the door! I would like to walk in there one day with nothing to complain about. I dream of having 2 good knees and walking upright not limping or in pain.

    Hi

I recently have 'entered' the menopause and the hot flushes drive me mad. I went to see my GP yesterday and she has given me HRT patches. I am 44, have RA and i am on Methotrexate and Sulfasalazine. She has given me a low dose patch for 3 months to see how i get on.

Seems some GPs differ, might be worth another ask.

    Good luck
