I went to hospital today and was greeted by nurse who weighs me coughing and spluttering  and over heard her mention her throught was sore and could hardly get her words out. I got weighed and went in to see my nurse.
I told her i was having a few problems with the top fleshy part of arm as it has been heavy and ive found it hard to move it on a few occasions through out the month and my little fingers are totaly numb no feeling in them in the mornings for half an hour. :  they are like they are made of rubber .she asked if id had test for carpel tunnel i said no so she will have word wih me consultaant about it other than that im ok and lathulamide is working for me.
I am de back in hospital next month and will see consultant in september.
We were then having a general chit chat and i said this swine flu is a worry she went on to say that she had had it and another nurse had had it a lot worse and i presumed it was nurse who weighed me. My nurse said they at the clinic have been given no guidelines on what to do yet  but she said if i did get to ever get this flu. If i was given this tamiflu the laflunamide would be stopped for a bit to give the vaccine chance to work and she would advise the same for her patiants on methotraxate.
I must admit i am worryed now as i and others in clinic have been weighed by this nurse. My other nurse who i saw was in full heath so i am not worryed about that.
I know it can last a week but i would have thought you have to have got rid of this thing completly before returning to work!

    Hi Joanne,

That's a bit worrying but she is probably no longer infectious so try not to get too concerned.

I'm glad you will see a consultant soon and fingers crossed you will soon be sorted. Take care Cris x Oh and thank you for that idea

Jeannie, I hope your mum is soon better. ((( ))) x

My niece had swine flu, took the Tamiflu for a week then started her new job the following week, she's a health care assistant in a private hospital.
Hope your mums get better very soon.

    Hi
    Re the shingles malarky
My daughter aged 11 had it a while back and I was told that the only people who need to worry were those on chemo. (mtx?) I am not on mtx but another DMARD and he said I would be fine and i was.
I think If there is no reason for you to visit someone with it - I would not. If you have to- like you live with them - you have no choice!
Not impressed by sneezy nurses :( hmmph!
    Love
