Hi guys and gals,

as my RA has got so severe (the inflammation levels are ridiculous) my specialist has put me forward for anti tnf treatment and ive just had the first assesment and it seems very likely i will meet the criteria following a second assesment in a month. i dont really know that much about the drugs in terms of how people have reacted to them can anyone give me an idea? i know it can make ur immune system so much worse and im a little worried. already on methx 20mg and im only 22. my specialist has treated people that have been really successful and gone into remission after having it. i am a little apprehensive as it seems so drastic but i know its neccessary.
any comments welcome!thanks

    Hi Kezzard,

I can't help you but wanted to just wish you luck and it isn't surprising you feel a bit apprehensive. You take care and I really hope you find something that does work for you. take care, Cris

Hi I am on anti tnf have been on it since may this year like you i was quite scared but after some very helpful advice from this web site I went ahead with it and it is the best thing that I did , it is a bit scary but the relieve from the constant pain is well worth it mine started to work within a week of starting went from shuffling around like I was 80 year old to starting to get my life back I would say though that it has taken 3 month before I felt back to normal !!! I do still get pain but managable ,the only the only down side is the fatique but you get that with the ra even that is not as intense,So even though not been on it long I can reccomend it , hope this is off some help Don't undersand why you have to go 2x to see if you are suitable I only went once diffent docs I suppose but best of luck :D

I'm on 25mg methotrexate and have just done my
fourth injection of humira. The pain relief is incredible
and I endorse all Lorraine says.
A big plus is I now have one ten second injection every
two weeks against swallowing 56 salazopyrin in the
same period. It's your decision but I dont regret taking
    it on board.

i have been on Humira for 20 months and it has been amazing. It started working immediately and I have not had any side effects. My problem now is that I do not think its is working for the full two weeks. Just recently I am back to needing full dose of diclofenac 2 days before my injection I was very fatigued with sore hands and shoulders again. See my rhumy on monday next.

thanks for all your great help and letting me know about your experiences. I find i suffer alot with fatigue at the moment whilst on methx, diclofenac and various pain killers. also take prochlorperazine for dizzyness and nausea. can anyone recommend anything to take or how to combat fatigue and tiredness, im worried im going to suffer more when on anti tnf?
    thanks
