I received a call from the hospital today and I now have an appointment to see a specialist. I saw one last month but he was unable to deal with my case as I need tkr!

My appointment is for 29 September. I always get nervous and anxious about these things (I'm sure I'm not alone). I think my family are more thrilled than I am. I am a number one wuss!

Anyway, I'm hoping the specialist is a love and makes me feel at ease. If their grumpy I'll just cry and feel inadequate!

Have a good weekend everyone. I'm going to London tomorrow with my hubby. I hope I cope with it! I've got the stick; the medication and instructions to my hubby that we'll have to make lots of stops. I thought I would do it while I can - I tend to avoid busy places so this is a brave move for me.

Hi Sharmain - my 14 yr old came back last week from a week in London (school trip) - she had a great time and came back with loads more bags than she went away with  .......so she obviously hit the shops with a vengance  .
I'm glad you've got your appointment through and hopefully everything will go well - I'm a wuss too and when I start blubbing I forget things - so write anything down that you want to go over with the consultant - I've learned that from experience and reading all the other posts on this site.
Have a great time in London - pace yourself, ignore the crowds and enjoy the experience (and the shopping  ).
Tell us all about it when you come back.
    love and cyber hugs (((())))

All the best with your appointment and look forward to hearing about your trip to London. Hope it stays dry, that can make all the difference.

    Hi Pixy

    tkr means total knee replacement

I apologise for not spelling it out. It took me a while to work out what all the abbreviations were too. I think OH means husband.

    Hello everyone

I had a good day in London (West End). My hubby had a job to do so I had to keep myself busy. We wanted to see a show but he was late and we were shattered. I went to Leicester Square; Regent Street; Piccadilly etc. It was a glorious day but teeming with tourists. I had lots of 'tea stops' and people watched when I was in Leicester Square. I went to the cinema when I was worn out and watched "The Proposal". When my husband finished we escaped the crowds and stopped in Winchester for a lovely meal before heading back home.

I'll just wait patiently until September for my appointment.

    Enjoy today everyone.

    Hi Sharmaine,

Glad you had a good day in London - it's amazing how a sit down and drink can give you so much more energy - we always have plenty of pitstops when we're out - they do tend to get longer as the day goes on - but it's a good way to manager arthur when you're out and about.

Hope the appointment goes well in September :)

    Luv Legs :D

PS O/H means Other Half so it stands for a partner - no matter what sex or marital status

Thanks for explaining this. I came up with a few alternatives for OH:

Oh HIM! Oh Her! Oh Hell! Oh Heck!

It does make since to say Other Half...I must be losing more of my faculties.
