Hi

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a memory foam mattress topper today. I'll let you know how I get on with it tonight.

It certainly was heavy.

Looking forward to bedtime!

Hope you all are having a good day.

Sharmaine

    Hi Mike

You must love getting into bed! I have seen them - how cool. I tend to tumble out of bed.

It'll be worth it if I'm comfy tonight! Can't wait to crawl into bed.

    Hi everyone

Thanks to everyone who recommended that I try a memory foam mattress topper (or bed). I bought the topper yesterday and it is great. I had a good night's sleep - the memory foams acts like a support cushion and I only needed one pillow to prop my knee up.

I didn't get up until 10.30 am this morning!

Just wondered what make your topper is Sharmaine. I went to get

one, but there are so many different makes, prices, and

thicknesses, that I came away bewildered.

I would be glad of any advice from all of you........Ange.

    Hi Angel
I'm not sure if we're allowed to advertise but I got mine from "a.gos"! They came in varying thickness - from 3cm thick with a washable cover. My current bed is very firm so I got the 3cm thick one which is just fine.

I'd been thinking a lot about getting one of these memory foam toppers when I read this post at the beginning of August. I checked out the Argos website and tried to order one but they were out of stock for delivery to my area. Tried the manufacturer themselves and they only deliver to my area once a month and charge £20 to do so.
Finally got one in stock from Argos and got it delivered yesterday. It is so comfortable, :) I'll let you know how I feel after a week of it but thanks to everyone who wrote in about them. A good investment I think.

I got a full memorry foam matress not just a topper as I needed a new one anyway. I bought it from a local furniture shop and it was just short of £200 quid

No regrets best sleep we've had in ages :0)

    Hi,
I've been thinking about buying one of these toppers but was put off by someone telling me that they make you sweat. As most of us know, one of the problems with RA is the awful sweating - in my case day and night.
Has anyone found this a problem? Best wishes Diane.

Nope does'nt make me sweat but I don't have a very heavy duvet on because Arthur makes me too warm sometimes too.
I'd say go for it, well worth the money but I think it depends which one you get. They say to get one which is more than 3 inches in depth for it to be effective. I looked at the original manufacturers of memory foam site and even their very best full matress only has 4 inches of actual memory foam on it as far as I remember, the rest of the depth is made up with something else. It's worth having a good check out of what's available.

    Hi
I got mine from Ar.os. They come in 3 thicknesses can't recall what they were. I saw them in The Ran.e too. I got the middle thickness can't remember what it was. Lovely and comfy. I love going to bed!

hi,mines lovely.i put pure cotton sheets on the bed & duvet cover.
then i always have the window ajar as i get sweats, this seems to help.but ive not found the memory foam contributes to night sweats or found it any hotter just sooo comfy.
got mine from catalogue £100 well spent.
    heres to good nights,luv debsx

Hi, I love my memory foam topper and when the time comes to change the mattress on our bed, I'll get a memory foam one. Its only a couple of years old and was expensive so I'll have to wait. I'm glad you find yours comfy. My husband loves ours too!
