Hello,Just wonderin if anyones tried the natural painkillers from the USA ,you know the ones with about 14 different natural herbs in them and did they give you any relief, cos the painkillers the docs prescibed for me are not working, not used to the pain all the time, but reading about some of the other members problems I dont think I am so bad,at least I can move quite well when the pain subsides a little .thanks for the advise given to me so far,I was beginning to think it was all in my head.[or should that be back]
Thanks Holmesi

    Hiya Holmesi!

Hope your day is going ok. I have not tried these pills from the usa and I tend to think that if they really did work big time then we would all be popping them, wouldn't we? By all means try them as everyone is different and they may well work for you.

Gps do prescribe Glucosamine supplements and these work for some. I used to buy them but gave up with them after years of not seeing any difference.

Perhaps others will answer your posting soon.

    Take care

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Hello, I'm with Elna. Same story really, I used to take glucosamine ran out and stopped taking them and didn't notice, so I haven't bothered since. Some of these so called cures may even contain harmful things, just because its natural, doesn't mean its safe! But I like things to be tried and tested before I take them, some people may find they work for them and thats just fine, I wouldn't stop them. We are different and we have choice. Love Sue
PS I always look up drugs that the docs prescribe before taking them!!!

Can recommend a tens machine - instant relief and helps to cut down on the drugs - hope this helps.

it seems NICE had told doctors there is no justification for taking glucosomine. so, my GP has sent me a letter saying it has been taken off my prescription, with the option of going back if i feel i has been helpful. for a while now I have regarded glucosomine as ineffective, so here nothing is being missed. I have also tried that remedy based on some berries from Scandinavia, again, it is ineffective.
in the end I am wondering if the best natural painkiller is simply to grin and bear it. I am hobbling around the house now each morning, the hip and knee seems to get worse. i am fearful at some point the left side will deteriorate, but am trying to adapt my lifestyle as best I can. think this may go a long way to living with osteo and other arthritis. simply becoming adapted to it.

    best wishes,

    Nick

if the pain relief prescribed by the dr isnt working go back to him and say there are plenty of others.
glucosamine isnt a pain relief it is said to protect the carteligge (sp!) and possably rebuild
good luck in finding some relief
