Hello, Just to let you know that I am going to be spending tomorrow with my niece, during the time that her husband is spending having surgery for bowel cancer. We are all hopeing that this time it will go ahead, as last time he was all dressed up in the theatre clothes, had his pre med and waiting for the porters to take him down to the theatre, when the surgeon treating him came and explained that his blood pressure was too high and his condition too weak for surgery. They medicated him and sent him home. That was about 2 months ago. Now he is much weaker and suffering a lot of pain, so they are going ahead. My problem is that I and my sister, who does'nt live locally and is 70 are the only family either of them have. I live a 3 hour journey away, so can't go as often as I would like, but my husband is driving me tomorrow, as I can't drive very far because of the pain. My neice has a physical disablity, and can do nothing for herself, so needs a carer with her 24/7, which I have arranged. Its so expensive though! I just hope everything works out for them this time. So I pray that they will operate this time and the operation will be a success. Sorry to have such a depressing post, but I just wanted to let you know. I'll be back on Friday, all being well. You don't get rid of me that easily!!! I am trained to look after them myself, but I am physically not able to do it and that is so hard to bare. Love Sue :)

    Hi
You are very kind to travel all that way to be with your niece during such a worrying time. I hope her husband has his operation and things start to improve for them.

    Take care.

Hope today goes well for you all. That your bil gets his operation and that you and your neice have a lovely day together, finally that it isn't all too much for you.

    Hi Sue
I think you said you would be back today. I hope all has gone well with your niec's husband and that the surgery will be successful. It must be frustrating for you not to be able to physically do much for your niece but I am sure that she is extremely grateful for your support and kindness.
Make sure you get yourself some rest too now as I am sure that you will be needing it.
