I would like to know if anyone gets an intense pain at the back of the knee cap on the back of the leg? If I have been sitting or standing and I suddenly move, it feels as if my knee cap has jumped out of it's socket, there is a small thud noise. It's hard to describe. Bet you are all laughing.

I have experienced an intense pain whilst walking, but it is only on my right leg. My thighs hurt a lot but that is the Polymyalgeria Rheumatica. My arms and shoulders hurt when I get tired.

Would welcome views from you.

I sometimes get a pain behind one knee if I have sat too long on a hard back chair. At first I was convinced I had a DVT and spent ages rubbing it.
I noticed it mostly at my daughters when I sit in the kitchen on a straight back chair.
    No noises with it though.
Hope someone is along with info for you soon.
There are some lumps you can develop,I think they are called Bakers Cysts am not sure if they are behind the knee or in the calf.

    Hey Joyful

I have OA in both knees. I can sometimes feel the muscles in my calfs pulling when I try and get up from a sitting position. The bottoms of my feet can also hurt. My knees ache if I have the misfortune of standing in one position for too long too. I've got so accustomed to twinges and aches....if I try and bend too far I can hear my knees clicking.

I don't know if this helps - you just can't win. If you walk too much it hurts; if you sit too much it hurts; when you wake up in the morning it hurts etc etc!!!

I'm only 53 and when I see old dears in their 70s or 80s overtaking me it really upsets me!

    Hope you're feeling ok.

    Thanks Sharmaine

I know what you mean about old dears in their 70s and 80s. Upsets me too. Also the walking. I am trying very hard to stop my muscles getting weaker, but I think it is part of the Polymyalgeria Rheumatica. My GP who also has it, has problems with his arms and legs when he plays golf. The soreness never really leaves you.

Ah well. just get on with it.

    Thanks Linda.

have checked and there are no lumbs thank goodness. It's just this horrible thud noise when I go the change direction or get up from sitting.

My knees completely locked one weekend with a flare up and I was almost bedridden for one whole day. Long story.

I seem to have been on my feet all day today. Shall probably post a story on chit chat about the episode with have had with a neighbour. Very stressful

    Hi
I was having trouble at night with my knees. A pillow was too big to put between my knees to try and take the strain off my back and legs etc. so I found some cushtie cushions on Amazon. They are the Polyester/polyurethane cushions filled with 100% polystyrene foam beads.
I think you can probably find them in some shops or on markets but I do a lot of shopping on the internet. I think we allknow why.
Anyway, I have some in my recliner in the lounge and one to use as |I said, Smoosh me between the knees. Am I able to say that?
They do help me. It is quite a problem trying to get comfortable in bed. I have splints fr both hands, support for my neck and cushions too. Quite a problem when you have to get up to go to the toilet.
Anyway, if you are able to get some of these cushions I think you will find relief.

    Smoosh

Wow, what a great word! It made me smile, I've never heard it before, but I'm going to add that to my vocabulary :)

Can one honestly say that they have been 'smooshed' today.
Yes I honestly can. I have several of these cushions which are great. They are just small enough to support the back or like I said, to put between your knees in bed at night. Look on Amazon - log on to Health Care products.
